Abstract

1,163,055. Boreing earth &c. SALZGITTER MASCHINEN A.G. 4 April, 1967 [29 June, 1966 (2)], No. 15277/67. Heading E1F. An auger 1 is divided into longitudinal sections 3,4 at least some of which are pivoted at 7. The cutting edges lead the sections by as much as half the angle subtended by the body of the section in plan. The sections may be moved apart by a cam plate 10. The invention may be applied to a boring grab having cutting teeth mounted on the bottom plates of the sections. The bottom plates are sections of screws and flaps are fitted adjacent the cutting edges to prevent accidental discharge of the material collected in the grab. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,013,529.
