1,131,966. Bottling; capping bottles etc.; container closures. ALUMINUM CO. OF AMERICA. 30 Jan., 1967 [11 Feb., 1966], No. No. 4527/67. Heading B8T. [Also in Division A5] A unitized closure assembly for affixing on a bottle 10 containing liquid feed comprises a teat 30 having an imperforate rigid disc 62 positioned in a recess 60 therein and a frangibly removable inelastic cover 80 adapted to enclose the teat and compress it against the feeding bottle. The assembly is attached to a feeding bottle using a press (Fig. 21, 22). A typical example of an assembly after affixation to a feeding bottle is shown in Fig. 12 (left of centre). When the feeding bottle is to be used, the upper portion 82 of the cover 80 is broken off by application of hand pressure, fracture occurring across a line of weakness at 92. The teat 30 remains secured to the feeding bottle by means of band 94, and liquid in the bottle may be discharged through the teat by flowing around the edges of the disc. The closure assembly is preferably affixed to the bottle using sterilizing procedures.
