Abstract
1,115,073. Suspended ceiling hanger. A. W. HOOD. 3 June, 1965 [3 June, 1964], No. 22976/64. Heading E1W. A hanger for a suspended ceiling comprises a base plate 10 having an upstanding shank 12 and a clamp plate 10a to engage on the shank and be retained by a friction or snap fit thereon with the upper surface of the base plate close to and parallel with the under surface of the clamp plate and with the shank portion 12 projecting above the clamp plate for securing to a main ceiling structure. Preferably the clamp plate 10a has radial slots 11 and the base plate 10 projects beyond the edge of the clamp plate. In use, the corners of thin panels may be clamped directly between the plates 10, 10a Fig. 1B (not shown), or the lower limb of a Z shaped clip 17 may be similarly clamped, whereby a thick panel such as a light diffusion panel L, may be in turn clamped between the upper limb of the clip 15 and the corner of the plate 10. The panels may alternatively he supported by T- or L- sections Fig. 7 (not shown) supported between a pair of horizontally spaced hangers with the vertical limbs of the sections engaged in aligned slots 11.
