Abstract

Chipboard is made from non-comminuted peanut shells and a synthetic resin binder in a proportion of 8-10% by weight of the dry shells. The moisture content of the mixture should be 15-25% by weight of the dry shells. An insecticide may be incorporated. The initial moulding pressure is 15-25 kg/cm.2 and this is slowly lowered continuously or in stages to zero, zero pressure being maintained for 30 seconds before opening the press.
