Abstract

An electrolytic cell for e.g. the determination of oxygen in a fluid comprises a polythene membrane 5 fastened over the end of a tube 2 by elastic threads in grooves 15..17 and then held by a rubber sealing-ring 4 in an outer tube 1 fastened over the inner tube by a union nut 3. The electrode assembly is inserted in this housing after it is filled with a suitable electrolyte. The electrode assembly comprises a glass tube 11 with a platinum disc cathode 8 at the end, and a silver wire anode 9 coiled around it. The assembly is held in place by a further union nut 12.
