An electrical energy regulating device of the type which includes a switch for controlling the supply of electrical current, the switch being operated by a bi-metallic arm subjected to a heating effect derived from the switched side of the supply current so that the switch is constantly opened and closed to maintain a predetermined average energy supply depending upon the setting, includes at least two bimetallic arms 1, 2 rigidly coupled at 4 and resiliently mounted at 5, arm 2 serving as an operating member carrying moving contact 6 co-operating with fixed contact 7 so that current flows through the operating arm 2 when the contacts 6, 7 are closed, arm 1 serving as a combined ambient temperature compensating and adjusting member provided with means 13, 14 engaging it at its free end for adjusting the position of arm 1 and thus of arm 2 and contact 6 in relation with contact 7, and thereby adjusting the predetermined average energy passed by the regulating device when in use, the free end of arm 2 having an armature 16 and magnet 15 to provide a snap action. The air gap between magnet 15 and armature 16 is adjusted by screw 18 thereby adjusting the switch differential. Cam 13 is rotated by shaft 12 and screw 14 is adjusted for the minimum setting of the device. Screw 21 cooperating with bi-metallic arm 3 is adjusted for the maximum setting. If the contacts 6, 7 weld, pressure tending to break the weld can be applied by turning cam 13 to the " off " position at which arm 1 engages overlapping bracket 20 fastened to arm 2.
