Abstract

1,078,686. Ammunition hoisting apparatus. BOFORS A.B. Oct. 16, 1964 [Nov. 13, 1963], No. 42382/64. Heading F3C. In hoisting apparatus of a gun the barrel 4 of which is arranged in an elevatable part mounted pivotally on a mobile carriage 1 and carrying a magazine 6, a crane boom 8 having a hoisting unit 9, 10 arranged to travel along the boom for conveying ammunition to the magazine is mounted at the rear on a pair of rods 30 pivotally attached at 31, 32 to the boom and elevatable part respectively, and is supported at the front by the forward end of the boom being mounted so as to be displaceable and able to be locked in position in guide means 16 secured to the elevatable part. A threaded sleeve (17), Fig. 4 (not shown), is pivotally and non-rotatably mounted on the boom 8 and is caused to move longitudinally of the guide means 16 by rotation of a screw-threaded spindle (18) mating with the sleeve (17). The spindle (18) may be driven by a motor and gearing which is so connected to the magazine doors 35 that these are opened when the sleeve (17) is caused to move rearwardly on the spindle (18) to assume the magazine loading position shown.
