[Also in Division H2] A fluid-pressure jack comprises a cylinder 2 on which is screwed a head 4 and a top 16, and a piston-rod 14 which is guided at its inner end by a ring 36 and at its outer end by a ring 28 secured in the top 16 by a circlip 30. Sealing of the piston in the top 16 is effected by a member 26 which is made up of elastic rings of different hardness and which is urged against the ring 28 by a spring 20 bearing against a shoulder 22 in the top 16. Fluid is introduced into and discharged from the cylinder by ducts 10. 12 respectively and is conducted from the lower chamber 48 of the cylinder to the space 50 through ducts 44, 46. The jack may be used to operate a spring-released circuit breaker.
