1,63,134. Photographic stabilizing baths. NEDERLANDSCHE FOTOGRAFISCHE INDUSTRIE N.V. July 10, 1964 [July 26, 1963], No. 28609/64. Heading G2C. Stabilizing baths for exposed, developed silver halide emulsions contain (1) an alkali or ammonium rhodanide and (2) rhodanine, a rhodanine substituted in the 3 and/or 5 positions or a salt of such a substituted rhodanine. Preferred substituted rhodanides are 3-amino-, 3-acetylamino- and 3-ethyl-rhodanine. The stabilizer bath may also contain NH4Cl, ascorbic acid, thiourea, alcohol, acetone, cobalt or zinc acetate, disodium phosphate or dyestuffs (e. g. Rhodamine-B). The bath is preferably heated or allowed to stand before use, and preferably has a pH not exceeding 7.
