In a venetian blind allowing a single size head gear to suit a variety of window frame widths whereby only the slats need to be cut to size, the head gear comprises a tube 9 rotatably mounted in brackets 2, 3 which may be secured, e.g. to a pelmet 1, and which have lips 7 receiving a cut-to-size slat 8 serving to cover the mechanism. The blind slats 16 are carried by cord ladders 13 attached to the tube 9 which is rotated by tilt cords 31, 32. Draw cords 19, 20 engaged by a known latch 20 emerge from openings 18 in the tube 9 and are secured to clamps 24 on the lowermost slot.
