103,750. Major, C. G., and Smith, Major, & Stevens. May 8, 1916. Castors. -A castor for trucks, trollies, heavy furniture, &c., of the type having twin wheels, comprises a casting C slidably pivoted on a pin E having an enlarged portion S at its upper end. A spring F is interposed between the enlarged part S and the lower bearing, so that the article to which the castor is attached is cushioned. The member C has jaws I, J, which receive the removable axle L of the wheels N and a member H having jaws P which engage the bosses O on the wheels, and also carries an axle R on which are mounted scrapers Q. The weight is carried by the upper jaw I, about which the castor wheels may rock to allow for unevenness of surface. In a modification, the jaws P and bosses O are dispensed with, and the wheels are retained by the scrapers Q, the ends of which are pivoted inside the rocker frame. In either modificatlon, the axle, atter insertion in the wheels, is locked by set-screws M.
