Description
The invention relates to the safety of persons during the assembly/disassembly phase of site cranes which use weights (generally made of concrete) at the base of the crane for two particular functions: both to ensure the stability of the crane, and also to counterbalance the jib. In this very specific case, after having vertically stacked concrete weights on the base of the crane by means of lifting gear, the person is required to mount weights on the stack formed, in order to fix slings which are connected to the boom via the counter-jib, this in order to counterbalance the boom. The problem posed by this action of fixing the slings affects the safety of the worker during this operation during which he is at height without protection against the risk of falling. The most common case is that the worker places a simple ladder on the pile of concrete pads and climbs to the top of this pile. Once assembled, he handles the leses to fix them to the load made up of the concrete pads (ballasts), but during this time he is in total insecurity in the face of the risk of falling.
State of knowledge : The different types of tower cranes are represented by two families called Component Erecting Cranes (known as GME) which have jibs and counter-jibs, and Automated Erecting Cranes (known as GMA) used in the construction of short-term works with high assembly and dismantling frequencies.
Component Erecting Cranes (EMC) are subdivided into three categories:
- a first of cranes without tie rods often referred to as "falt top" or "topless" which are characterized in that they are driven from the ground,
- a second category with a luffing jib (also nicknamed "Kangaroo crane") is used in particular in the construction of skyscrapers, or when the crampedness of the top of the site makes it difficult to use a jib crane,
- And finally the tie-rod cranes (also called "cable-stayed" by the presence of the jib and the counterjib) which are concerned by the present invention.
Self-erecting cranes (known as GMA) are divided into two categories: the first self-erecting (called in the profession "GMR") of low capacity and without variable height, and a second self-erecting tower crane (called in the "GTMR" profession) of higher capacity with generally the possibility of adding masts to increase the height under the hook. Our invention also relates to this crane technology.
Tower cranes, depending on the designated categories, need counterweights that are positioned either at the base of the machine or still overhead depending on the technology of the machine. If these weights (also called "concrete pads") are placed at the base of the machine:
- they can act exclusively in stabilizing the machine (under these conditions the crane is a monolithic assembly which has a high structural resistance), in which case the operator does not need to climb on the stack formed because the mere presence of the studs guarantees the designated function,
- or they act both in stability of the crane, and also to make the counterweight of the jib (in this case, the jib needs to be equipped with a load recovery system). It is in the latter case that the operator must attach slings to the top of this stack in order to secure the jib to the stack of concrete pads.
In this specific case, no device is known to date to avoid the risk of the operator falling during this phase of assembly and disassembly of the slings.
Finally, it is important to note that the concrete weights used in the counterweight of cranes have a minimum thickness of 30 centimeters, and that the counterweight of a crane is made up of several lesses stacked on top of each other.
Presentation of the invention : the invention relates to a device for the safety of persons on weights for construction cranes used as counterweights of the jib, on which slings are fixed which contribute to the mechanical resistance of the structure of the crane by load take-up of the jib, characterized (Figure 1) by:
- A monolith guardrail (a) placed around the entire perimeter of the slab (b) of the ballast, according to the principle that this guardrail (a) rests on said slab (b'),
- which receives a blocking system (c) to the slab (b), consisting of at least two pillars (e) per side secured to the guardrail (a) and each placed on the four cardinal points (f) of the upper slab (b), these pillars (e) having a height of at least 25 centimeters and blocking said guardrail (a) on the perimeter of the slab (b) by overlapping the thickness of the slab, avoiding thus to the guardrail any movement likely to unhook it from the slab or cause it to tip over,
- a one-way door (g) with leaf opening towards the inside of the slab, in such a way as to prevent the worker from any risk of falling outside the perimeter of the guardrail, as soon as the latter is leaning on the door ( g),
- a telescopic staircase (h) provided with a restraint (i) for the entire height of the staircase avoiding the user a risk of falling, staircase which is placed in front of the door (g), itself placed at the end opposite the jib (j) of the crane.
