Abstract
Description
The subject of the present invention is a process for rearing oysters. Oysters known as ropes are known to be raised immersed in water by being glued on ropes suspended on tables, which makes it possible to separate them and to leave to each a relatively important space, and also facilitates the exondation which consists to remove the oysters from the water to allow a hardening of the shell and a larger development of flesh.
However, this breeding method has the disadvantage of generating significant losses due on the one hand because of falls during the operations of exonation, and on the other hand to predators such as sea bream. The object of the present invention is to propose a process for breeding oysters which makes it possible to remedy the various aforementioned drawbacks. The oyster farming method according to the invention is essentially characterized in that it consists in securing the oysters to a rigid element and enclosing this assembly in a perforated container and then immersing the whole in water. Because the oysters are attached to an element, this allows, in a manner analogous to the rope method, to keep it spaced apart from each other and to guarantee each one a vital volume, while the rigidity of said element ensures a certain immobility inside the perforated container, thus avoiding, as it could be the case with ropes, oysters can come into contact with the walls of said container and that predators can eat through the openings. According to an additional feature of the process according to the invention, the oyster mounts secured to the rigid elements are placed in a semi-rigid mesh bag of the type normally used for storing the oysters in water almost at maturity. they were detached from ropes.
The use of a pocket also helps to recover the oysters which have taken off accidentally. According to another additional feature of the process according to the invention, the oysters are secured to bars or tubes by gluing. According to another additional characteristic of the process according to the invention, the oysters are glued on a bar or a tube, in groups regularly spaced apart from several oysters, in each set the oysters being distributed radially around the bar or the tube. According to another additional characteristic of the process according to the invention, each set of oysters comprises three or four oysters. According to another additional feature of the process according to the invention, the rigid element is secured by at least one of its ends to the openwork container. According to a variant of the oyster culture method according to the invention, the oysters are bonded together. on an inner wall or on the two inner walls of a semi-rigid mesh pocket of the type usually used to store oysters in water almost at maturity after being detached from ropes. The wall or walls of the near thus constitute the rigid element which guarantees the spacing between the oysters, and it is impossible for the predators to access the oysters. According to another variant of the process for rearing oysters according to the invention, the oysters are secured to a rigid element consisting of a plate of deformable material of synthetic foam type, the joining being carried out by partial depressing of each of said oysters in said foam plate. The present invention also relates to an oyster support device for carrying out the method, and which is essentially characterized in that it comprises: at least one rigid element designed capable of making it possible to oysters, - at least one semi-rigid mesh pocket, of the type normally used for storing oysters in water after ropes have been detached, in which the rigid element is placed, - a rope or the like, for suspending said pocket, being hooked in the center, or substantially in the center, of one of the two walls of said pocket, so that the latter is positioned horizontally or substantially horizontally, in or out of the water. According to an additional feature of the support device according to the invention, it comprises several pockets hooked one below the other, possibly to the same rope that passes through them, and whose lower end is provided with a ballast. From the point of view of implementation, whatever the method used, that is to say either one or more assemblies enclosed in a mesh pocket, each of the assemblies consisting of oysters glued to tubes or bars , either meshed pockets on the inner walls or walls of which oysters are glued, the pockets are hung alone or in several rosaries, a rope itself suspended from a table so as to allow to immerse and to exonder them to will. The advantages and characteristics of the breeding method and the support device according to the invention will emerge more clearly from the description which follows and which refers to the appended drawing, which represents several non-limiting embodiments thereof. In the accompanying drawing: - Figure 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a portion of a first embodiment of the oyster rearing device according to the invention. - Figure 2 shows a schematic plan view of another part of the same device. - Figure 3 shows a schematic perspective view of a portion of a second embodiment of the oyster rearing device according to the invention. - Figure 4 shows a schematic perspective view of the oyster culture device according to the invention. Referring to Figure 1, we can see a rigid element 1, consisting of a bar or a tube 10, which are secured young oysters 2, so as to form a mounting 11.
The young oysters 2 are fixed by gluing using a suitable thin-set mortar, configured as a pad 3 partially or completely surrounding the bar or a tube 10, and with which the young oysters 2 are brought into contact by their lower shell.
In the embodiment shown, each pad 3 of cement-glue carries three young oysters 2, knowing that it is possible that this number can vary, preferably it is three or four. Referring now to FIG. 2, there is shown a grid container 4, of the type commonly referred to as pouches or pouches, usually used to store oysters in water almost at maturity after they have been detached from the cords. Such a container is made, not limited to, a rigid plastic material, and comprises two flat walls 40 to be closed against each other by enclosing oysters. According to the invention, the assemblies 11 after constitution, are arranged in a mesh container 4. In this way, young oysters 2 are kept spaced from each other and can grow, while remaining protected from predators. On the other hand, in the event of a bad bonding on a pad 3, the separating oyster falls into the meshed container 4 and can thus be recovered.
Note that, preferably, one of the ends of the bar or the tube 10, is secured to a wall 40, so that the assemblies 11 remain well spaced inside the pocket 4. It will be noted that according to a embodiment not shown, it is the walls 40 of the pockets 4 which constitute the rigid elements which are secured oysters. In this case, cement-glue pads are deposited on the walls, the inner side thereof, and the oysters are glued to these pads, then the pockets are closed. Referring now to Figure 3, we can see another embodiment of the method according to the invention, wherein the rigid element 1 consists of plates 12 of deformable synthetic foam, which may consist of a wet floral foam, in which the young oysters 2 are partly buried, by driving the material, in order to keep them there. The assemblies 13 constituted by the plates 12 carrying the young oysters 2 are then placed in a pocket 4, not shown, between the two sides thereof, which makes it possible to increase the maintenance of the oysters 2 in the plate 12. Preferably , the plates 12 are of reduced size so as to be able to arrange several of them in a pocket 4. In the embodiment shown, a mounting 13 comprises, without limitation, six plates 12 of six oysters 2. This embodiment is particularly advantageous because it is easy to implement since when joining young oysters 2 it is not necessary to wait for the cement glue, secondly the foam is not a constraint to the development of the oyster, finally, during the stripping process oyster cleaning operations, to remove the cement, are not necessary. Referring now to Figure 4, we can see a complete device for the implementation of the method according to the invention. Thus this device comprises three pockets 4 suspended one below the other by means of a rope 5 or the like.
This arrangement is made so that the pockets 4 are positioned flat and horizontally, leaving between them a certain space, which is obtained by passing through the two walls 40 of each pocket 4, substantially in their center, by the rope 5 while stays 50 allow a maintenance horizontally, or substantially horizontally. The rope 5 has at its upper end 51 a hooking means 52, in this case a loop, for attachment to a table for example, and at its lower end 53 a ballast 54, to ensure the vertical deployment of the device. In this arrangement, each pocket 4 contains either assemblies 11 comprising tubes 10 on which are pasted oysters 2, or a mounting 13 of plates 12 in which oysters 2 are partially buried, or oysters 22 glued directly on the inner face The method and the device according to the invention make it possible to considerably limit losses due to predators, while at the same time offering oysters optimum conditions for their growth, and retaining the typicality of rope oysters.
