Abstract

The packaging is for end pieces of string (13a, 13b) of the same length, for e.g. tying the necks of sacks. Each string is of approximately the same length and its end is held together by a metal clip (11, 12). The dia of the strings is constant allowing easy removal of each string. The string consists of synthetic material with a small proportion of natural fibres. The ends of the clips may be rounded or otherwise without sharp edges likely to cause injury and clip positions may be varied to ensure staggering (11a, 11b) when hanks are incorporated in bundles. A clip-placing station may use a machine for each hank in a bundle, pieces being cut to length after the clips have been placed.
