Abstract

The power cable has a single conductor (1), flexible or rigid, and in the shape of a bar or line. The conductor is enclosed over a given length by two identical half shells (2, 3) forming an enclosure that is rotationally symmetric about the axis of the conductor. The shells are fixed to the conductor by collars (4, 5). A radiator comprising radial fins (7) is located around the conductor and inside the shells. The radiator may take various forms. It may be a single piece held between the collars and the conductor or it may consist of two piece, or of several pieces, each piece comprising one radial fin with a suitably shaped sleeve fitting over the conductor and locating in a socket in an adjacent fin.
