Abstract

The shoe is for the crawler track links of an earthmoving or armoured fighting vehicle and comprises a solid metal base to which a rubber wearing cushion is glued. The cushion incorporates at least along the outer edge a vulcanised rubber mixture, in which short fibres are distributed in a concentration between 1 and 50% of the weight. The fibres can be metal, with a dia. between 0.05 and 0.90mm and a length between 1 and 50 mm. Alternatively textile fibres can be used, measuring between 40 and 2650 decitex and 3 80 mm long. The fibres can run vertically from the face of the cushion in contact with the ground.
