Abstract

The spanner has a handle with housing for the ratcheting mechanism and a concentric hub for holding spanner sockets. The housing contains two pivoted double arm levers for changing the operating direction and for transmitting torque to the hub. These levers have two ends which are brought into contact as required with inner teeth of the housing by a central changeover actuator. Both double levers are engaged by one end with housing teeth and the spring force ensures that these levers are connected to the housing teeth. The mid section of the double arm levers (14, 15) are in contact with a partition wall (18). Spring loaded plugs (21) fit in this partition wall for exerting pressure on the levers for ensuring contact with housing teeth. The direction of the spring force is changed by rotating the continuation of the pin arrangement (22) with transverse holes for spring and plugs (21).
