Abstract

A circular knitting machine is supplied with yarn from bobbins mounted horizontally on at least two creel frames positioned symmetrically w.r.t. the knitting machine. The yarn passes from the bobbins through an eyelet, a stop-motion and feed device respectively. The gap between each creel frame and the knitting machine is sufficient to allow a machine operative to pass through and gain access to the creel frames and the knitting machine. Each creel frame carries a substantially equal number of bobbins. The arrangement is compact and provides easy access to both the knitting machine and supply bobbins.
