Abstract

The valve comprises a mobile septum sensitive to the downstream pressure, to which is attached a flap valve and a calibrated spring which opposes the effect of the pressure on the septum. The valve comprises a piston subjected on one face to the upstream pressure and on the other to the downstream pressure, and opposing the spring with a force proportional to the difference of pressure. The piston exerts a corrective effect on the spring calibration so that variations in the supply pressure do not affect the downstream pressure. The piston is pref. centred on the axis of the spring, of the septum and of the flap valve. It is pref. between the flap valve and the septum and slides in a hole drilled in a partition separating the high and low pressure chambers. The piston pref. slides in a low friction bushing e.g. of PTFE placed in the hole in the partition or its surface is covered with PTFE.
