Abstract

Fabric is knitted or woven from a compound yarn containing continuous filaments with a potential crimp but only a weak crimping force, and continuous filaments with a high shrinkage capacity. The fabric is treated to shrink the shrinkable filaments and develop the crimp of the others. Preferably the latter are cellulose acetate, and the shrinkable filaments are nylon or polyester.
