Claims (6)

  1. A device for fastening a rail on a track support (13) having a lateral shoulder (15), the device being of the type comprising a lateral abutment (19) interposed between said shoulder (15) and the edge of a rail flange (21), a spring fastening (23), generally in the form of a deformable plate bearing between the shoulder (15) and said flange (21), and anchor means (27) fastened to said support, passing through said fastening (23) and bearing against said spring fastening (23), wherein said lateral abutment (19) rests on said support and includes at its top portion a contact zone (33) for said spring fastening (23), which zone is essentially located between said lateral shoulder (15) and a vertical plane (P) parallel to the rail and containing an axis of said anchor means, the device being characterized by a pad (25) of electrically insulating material interposed under said spring fastening (23) between said rail flange (21) and said shoulder (15), and via which the spring fastening (23) is suitable for bearing between the shoulder (15) and said flange (21).
  2. A device according to claim 1, characterized in that said lateral abutment (19) includes a chimney (35) for passing said anchor means and in that said contact zone (33) is constituted by a portion of the top surface of said chimney.
  3. A device according to claim 2, characterized in that said top surface includes a downwardly sloping portion (41), the bottom level of said sloping portion being situated in the vicinity of said rail.
  4. A device according to claim 3, characterized in that said top surface includes a horizontal portion forming said contact zone (33), adjacent to the sloping portion and extending it from the top level thereof.
  5. A device according to any one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that said pad (25) includes a central opening (45) through which said chimney is engaged, such that the pad does not interfere with said chimney.
  6. A device according to claim 5, characterized in that said pad and said lateral abutment include co-operating clip means (47, 49).
