Claims (11)
- Method for oiling the hemming dies (3, 4) of a hemming device (1) for hemming the edges (8, 8a) of sheets of metal (6, 7) which lie at least partially against each other, preferably sheets of metal (6, 7) for automobile construction consisting of aluminium or aluminium alloys, characterised in that the oiling of the hemming dies (3, 4) is carried out in an automated manner in the hemming device (1) simultaneously with the stroke movement of the hemming bed (2), the hemming dies (3, 4) and/or the hold-down device (5).
- Method as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that for oiling purposes an elastic element (9) soaked in oil and similar fluids and consisting of felt or similar materials is pressed against the hemming dies (3, 4) or the edges (8, 8a) of the sheets of metal (6, 7).
- Method as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that during pre-hemming, the final hemming dies (4) are oiled.

- Method as claimed in claim 1, characterised in that pre-hemming dies (3) and final hemming dies (4) are oiled in succession or simultaneously.
