Claims (7)

  1. An exterior door handle (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising an electromechanical closing system (2) having a manually operable handle member (3) adapted to perform a lifting movement for opening a door lock (8) of a door (11),
    wherein said lifting movement of the handle member (3) is segmented, wherein at the end of a first lifting path (21), a switch (20) is operative to electrically open the door lock (8),
    wherein, in case of failure of the electric power supply or of the electric portion of the closing system (2), said handle member (3) is adapted to realize, beyond said first lifting path (21), an additional lifting path (23) which is effective to mechanically open the door lock (8),
    characterized in
    that, at the end of the first lifting path (21), a device (9) acts on the handle member (3) while causing a short-time increase of the actuation resistance, notably in the manner of a pressure point with subsequent stopper, said pressure point being perceivable at the handle member (3) and having to be overcome, so that the switch (20) will electrically open the door lock after or when said pressure point is overcome.
  2. The exterior door handle, according to claim 1, characterized in that said device for increasing the actuation resistance comprises at least one damping device (14) which is deformable under the influence of pressure, wherein, for deformation, there first has to be overcome an increased force threshold.
  3. The exterior door handle according to any one of claims 1 to 2, characterized in that the electric switch (20) comprises a micro switch, a Hall sensor, a capacitive sensor, a Reed switch or an acceleration sensor.
  4. The exterior door handle according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said device (9) for increasing the actuation resistance comprises a plate (10) mechanically rigidly coupled to the handle member (3), wherein said plate, at the end of the first lifting path (21), is operative to act on a damping device (14) comprising at least one cup-like deformation element (14) made of an elastic material.
  5. The exterior door handle according to any one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that the damping device (14) is coupled to a pivot lever (6) for mechanically opening the door lock.

The exterior door handle according to claim 5, characterized in that the handle member (3), upon continued lifting movement (23) beyond a stopper formed by the damping device (14), is operative to entrain said pivot lever (6) for mechanically opening the door lock, so as to mechanically open the door lock by use of a Bowden cable (32) coupled to the pivot lever (6).
  7. The exterior door handle according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that a lifting magnet comprising a locking pin is operative to limit the lifting movement of the handle member (3) to the first lifting path (21) by forming a stopper arrangement together with said locking pin, and that, in case of power failure, said lifting magnet is operative to retract the locking pin and to release the handle member for an additional lifting path (23) for mechanically opening the door lock.
