To facilitate the reading of the drawing, only the elements necessary for the understanding of the invention have been represented. The same elements bear the same references from one figure to another.

The figure 1 represents a railway vehicle comprising a skin 6 forming the aesthetic envelope of the vehicle and a rigid chassis 4 provided at its front end with an energy-absorbing element 9. The skin 6 has a front face comprising a fixed laminated windshield 2 flush on the skin 6 for example by means of a plastic shell 7.

In accordance with the figure 1 , the vehicle comprises a driving cabin 1 disposed behind the front face of the vehicle, this driving cabin comprising a control panel 5 placed near the base of the windshield 2 of the vehicle and a chair facing the desk to accommodate the driver. The vehicle also comprises a device against the intrusion of the windshield 2 in the cabin 1, this device comprising a protective shield 3 interposed between the front face of the vehicle formed by the skin 6 of the vehicle and the inside of the cabin of conduct 1, this protective shield 3 being supported by the frame 4.

In accordance with the figure 2 , the protective shield 3 is formed of a metal structure supporting a rigid front wall, dimensionally stable, extending over the entire height of the driver's cab 1 and having a rectangular opening 8 arranged facing the windshield 2 of the vehicle , this opening 8 allowing the driver's vision and having a surface substantially equal to the surface of the windshield 2. The protective shield 3 also comprises two side walls, one of which is provided with an opening to allow access to the driver.

The shield 3 supports, around the opening 8, a frame 10 energy absorber comprising four structures 11 with programmed deformation arranged parallel to the edges of the opening 8. In accordance with the upper diagram of the figure 3 , illustrating the device before the shock, each deformable structure 11 has a trapezoidal section having a large base resting on the periphery of the opening and a small base coming into contact with the windshield 2 on the edge thereof. The deformable structures 11 each support a flap 12 on their inner blank, facing the opening 8, this flap being constituted by a metal plate whose end is welded to the deformable structure 11 near the windshield 2 and whose Another end is free and rests on the edge of the opening 8 flowing very slightly inside the latter.

The lower diagram of the figure 3 as well as figure 4 illustrates the state of the device against the intrusion of the windshield 2 after an impact that caused the projection of the windshield 2 towards the cabin 1, for example by breaking the plastic shell 7 ensuring the maintenance of the latter. According to these figures, during the projection of the windshield 2 towards the cabin 1, the edges of the windshield 2 bear against the rack frame 10 deforms the structures 11 causing the deformation and tilting of the flaps 12 towards the inside of the opening 8, which then partially obstruct the surface of the opening 8, thus limiting the risks of intrusion of the windshield 2 in the driver's cab 1.

It follows from the foregoing that the risks of intrusion of the windshield or other objects into the cabin are minimized on the one hand by the absorption of a part of the energy of intrusion of the windshield during deformation of the bay frame and secondly by the obstruction of the opening by the shutters.

The Figures 5 to 7 show an alternative embodiment of the device against the intrusion of a windshield according to the invention in which the bay frame described above is replaced by a frame 20 energy absorber provided with anti-intrusion means consisting of two pairs of pretensioned cylinders 22 arranged at the edge of the opening 8.

In accordance with the figure 5 and to the left schema of the figure 6 , the rack frame 20 is constituted by a rectangular frame surrounding the opening 8 having a lower face bearing on the protective shield 3 and a deformable upper portion projecting towards the windshield 2. The upper part of the frame 20 is formed of a deformable structure 21 extending on the outer periphery of the frame 20 and has an upper face coming into contact with the windshield, the latter not being represented on the Figures 5 and 6 , at the edge of the windshield. The rack frame 20 comprises, near two opposite edges of the opening 8, two pretensioned cylinders 22 arranged head to tail parallel to the edge of the opening 8, each jack 22 having a foot hinged to the rack frame 20 to by means of a pivot connection 22a allowing a movement of rotation of the jack 22 in the plane of the opening 8, the jack 22 comprising a sliding rod having a head connected by a ball joint 22b to the head of the sliding rod of the jack 22 in vis-à-vis. The cylinders 22 thus positioned are prestressed and have their head in abutment against a blank of the nearest deformable structure 21, the heads then being slightly offset with respect to the axis passing through the feet of the two cylinders 22.

In accordance with the diagram on the right of the figure 6 and at the figure 7 during an impact causing the windshield 2 to move towards the cabin 1, the impact energy is partially absorbed by the deformation of the deformable structures 21, the deformation of these structures 21 simultaneously causing a lateral displacement of the heads jacks 22 in the direction of the opening 8 beyond the axis d, thereby generating the sudden expansion of the cylinders 22 prestressed opposite the opening 8. The cylinders 22 thus relaxed prevent the intrusion of the windshield 2 in the cabin 1.

Such a variant of the device against intrusion has the advantage of allowing a strong extension of the cylinders towards the inside of the opening thereby reducing the passage section and ensuring high efficiency to the device.

The figure 8 represents an improved variant of the previously described device in which the locking cylinders 22 along the edge of the opening 8 is formed by controlled locking means, such a lug 23 controlled in translation by an electric motor. This lug 23 is placed between the axis d and the opening 8 and serves as a stop to the heads 22 b of the cylinders 22. The electric motor allows the erasure of the lug 23 and the relaxation of the jacks 22 opposite the opening 8 on command of the driver from control panel 5 or automatically from shock sensors. Such an embodiment has the advantage of allowing release of the anti-intrusion actuators 22 at the request of the driver, for example to anticipate a shock.

Dans ce mode de réalisation, la cabine de conduite 1, le châssis 4 du véhicule, les éléments absorbeurs d'énergie 9, la peau 6, le pare-brise 2 restent identiques à ceux décrits sur la figure 1.The Figures 9 to 11 show another embodiment of the device against the intrusion of a windshield according to the invention. In this embodiment, the driver's cab 1, the chassis 4 of the vehicle, the energy-absorbing elements 9, the skin 6, the windshield 2 remain identical to those described in FIG. figure 1 .

In accordance with the figure 10 , the vehicle comprises a protective shield 3 similar to that described above but which supports, around the opening 8, four elastic threads 32 regularly distributed around the opening 8. Each elastic thread 32 is stretched between two anchor points 34 of the shield disposed on two adjacent sides of the opening 8 and the ropes 32 are maintained, under high tension, substantially parallel to the adjacent edge of the opening 8 by a holding claw 33 disposed in the common angle to the two edges receiving dots 34. The claws 33 are mounted in the shield 3 through a housing allowing displacement, under stress, the claw 33 along an axis b perpendicular to the windshield 2. Each holding claw 33 has a finger retainer 33a of the elastic rope 32 and a transmission stand 33b extending along the axis b. The transmission stand 33b of each claw, shown partially broken away for two of the claws on the figure 10 , comes into contact with the windshield 2 through an angled end while the retaining finger 33a stops in the direction of the windshield 2 to allow the release of the rope 32 during a depression of the claw 33 inside his home.

Thus, as shown in figure 11 during a shock causing the windshield to move towards the opening 8, the claws 33 are driven into their housing by the support of the windshield 2 on the stands 33b, which causes the erasing the retaining fingers 33a inside the housing and the sudden release of the elastic strings 32 which partially relax by placing themselves across the opening 8 thus limiting the risks of intrusion of the windshield 2 into the cabin 3 .

In an improved variant of the embodiment described above, the four claws 33 will advantageously made integral with each other by connecting rods so that a thrust exerted on one of the claws 33 cause the depression of all the claws 33 and the simultaneous release of the four elastic strands 32.

In another improved variant of the embodiment described above, the four claws 33 will have their translational movement along the axis b controlled by actuators, such as pneumatic cylinders, to allow the early release of the elastic strings in anticipation of a shock, for example at the request of the driver from the control panel 5 or automatically from sensors carried by the vehicle.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the described and illustrated embodiments which have been given only as examples. Modifications are possible, particularly from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of the invention.

Thus, in an alternative embodiment the protective shield may be constituted by a wire mesh.

Thus, although the various embodiments described above represent a device against the intrusion of a windshield into a driver's cab, the device according to the invention may also be used to prevent the intrusion of a side window. in a cabin.
