Description
- The present application for a Patent of Invention consists, as indicated in its title, in a "MELTING ELEMENT WITH INCORPORATED POWER DISTRIBUTION", whose novel characteristics of manufacturing, shaping and design fullfill the object for which it has been specifically designed with a maximum safety and efficiency.
- More specifically, the invention refers to an element applicable to fuse boxes of any technology, formed with a metal sheet which through mechanizing and forming steps is converted in a power distribution element, also called BUSBAR, to certain output points in which are configured branches to which is transmitted that power coming from an outside source, with the additional characteristic that includes, in grace to have been constructed with appropiate dimensions and characteristics, a fuse capacity named also FUSELINK, in order to protect the circuits, substituting therefore a clasical assembly formed with a intensity transmitter element BUSBAR, a double female clip and a fuse per branch.
- In the state of the art exist a type of connections whose only object is that of transmitting intensity and power through a mechanized metal plate provided with the corresponding legs, which are introduced in different points of a printed circuit board, in which are provided a series of female clips into wich, through the other end are introduced the corresponding fuses.
- The present invention consist in that, by varying the manufacturing material with regard to the state of the art, and adjusting the measurements (thickness and width), said element allows working with the two functions above mentioned, i. e.; that belonging to a connection that transmits intensity and power to determined points of the printed circuit board and, in the other hand, acting as a fuse in the same points where it functions as a protection element.
- The BUSBAR-FUSELINK ELEMENT proposed is formed with a metal element which through a series of operations of punching and folding is provided with an upper flat surface from which emerge perpendicularly or in another direction a series of branches, which number and nature will be a function of the special characteristics of the printed circuit board where it s applied. Afterwards, said connection, and by an overmolding operation or the like, will be covered with a sheath which at the same time that gives an electric protection will rigidify the connection. Later will be made the final adjustement of the connection zone (FUSELINK) by a second punching.
- In the cases where it s needed, the upper zone will be crossed by a longitudinal slot allowing that said zone has a greater or smaller width as per a determined length, by which, and in combination with the nature of the choosen material, allows having a conductive capacity suitable for the power passage to be insured and insure as well the fuse function of the remainder of the element.
- The branches emerging from the upper zone had been designed in such a way that the upper portion of same contacting the upper zone of the BUSBAR-FUSELINK has fuse s characteristics, whilst the lower portion acts as a contact zone or tongue proper, being introduced into same the female clips or other connection elements of the counterpart insuring the output connection.
- Other details and characteristics of the present application for a Patent of Invention will be manifest through the reading of the description given herebelow, in which reference is made to the figures attached to this description where the above details are depicted. These details are given as an example, referring to a case of a possible practical embodiment, but is not limited to the details outlined; therefore this description must be considered from an illustrative point of view and with no limitations whatsoever.
- There follows a detailed report of the several elements named in the present description: (10 and 11) BUSBAR zone, (lla) wide portion, (llb) narrow portion, (12) branch, (12a) FUSELINK zone, (12b) tongue of the output connection, (12c) spur, (13) input connection zone, (14) slot, (15) overmoulded sheath, (16) detail of the output connection housing.
- Figure 1 is an elevation lateral view of the BUSBAR-FUSELINK element proposed before overmoulding.
- Figure 2 is an upper plan view of the BUSBAR-FUSELINK element proposed before overmoulding.
- Figure 3 is a perspective view of the BUSBAR-FUSELINK element proposed after overmoulding which has taken a determined, but not single, configuration.
- Figure 4 is a perspective view of BUSBAR-FUSELINK element proposed after overmoulding where details can be seen of the housings of the output connection.
- In one of the preferred embodiments of what is the object of the present application, and as can be seen in Figures 1 and 2, the melting connection is formed with an upper flat zone (11), divided longitudinally in two as per a longitudinal slot (14), which divides said upper zone (11) in a wide portion (11a), and a narrow portion (llb), resulting from the mechanizing by punching of a metal conductive plate of zinc or other similar material.
- From said upper zone (11) of the connection (10) emerge perpendicularly downwards the different branches (12) which perform the double function of prevention means against over-intensity, that is to say, as a fuse.
- The fuse capacity of the BUSBAR zone (10 and 11) will be a function of the material, its thickness and width, being designed to that effect the slot (14) which allows the folding of said upper zone (11) in such a way that having the necessary width occupies the least space possible. It has been provided in the center zone of (11) a hole (13) in which is placed a screw for the input connection.
- Between the upper zone or upper portion (12a) and (12b) of the tongues (12) has been provided a spur (12c) whose function is that of immobilizing the metal element inside the overmoulding.
- The BUSBAR-FUSELINK element, as can be seen in Figures 3 and 4, when necessary can be overmolded in the way of a sheath (15), adopting a configuration such as the shown in Figures 3 and 4 or any other that may be better suited to the needs of the fuse box over which it s applied.
- As it s known and therefore belonging to the state of the art, the printed circuit boards of fuse boxes show a particular distribution as a function of the number of circuits and the protection value, in such a way that every BUSBAR-FUSELINK element will have a specific character, having all them in common being formed with a BUSBAR zone (10 and 11) and a FUSELINK zone (12), all that determining that the configuration of mechanical protection (15) resulting from the overmolding or the like may adopt all possible configurations, according with said BUSBAR-FUSELINK element.
- The Figures 3 and 4 represent one of the possible embodiments of the BUSBAR-FUSELINK element adapted to a metal element as the one represented in the Figures 1 and 2, but not meaning that the possibilities and configurations of (15) are limited, being adapted instead in every case to the own and specific configuration of the metal element and the number and situation of the different branches.
- Figure 4 shows a sheath (15) which in the lower portion is provided with a set of cavities (16) from which emerge the output connection tongues (12b). This type of output is presented as an indicative form, being possible to adopt other connection forms.
- Enough disclosed what the present application for a Patent of Invention in agreement with the figures attached is, it s understood that can be introduced in same any detail modifications regarded as convenient, always without departing from the essence of the present Patent of Invention as summarized in the following Claims.
