Abstract

A microwave oven according to the present invention includes a cover that provides protection to terminals of a motor installed in the oven's electrical component compartment, thus preventing the occurrence of an accident by electric shock.
There is disclosed a microwave oven having a main body, a cooking chamber and an electrical component compartment within the main body, a fan for removing heat generated by electrical components in the electrical component compartment, a motor rotating the fan, and terminals provided to one side of the motor to transmit electric energy from an external power source to the motor, including a means for keeping the terminals from being exposed to outside. The means is realized as a protective cover which encloses the terminals.
