Abstract

A ball envelope made up of a plurality of polygonal segments sewn together at their edges. The polygonal segments are made up of first and second groups of segments having different shapes. The first group of polygonal segments is made up of equilateral, triangular segments, while the second group of polygonal segments is made up of hexagonal segments. The hexagonal segments have an outline corresponding to a rectangle interposed between two isosceles triangles, with the short sides of the rectangle coinciding with the bases of the isosceles triangles. The long sides of the rectangles of each hexagonal segment are connected to edges of the triangular segments, while sides of the isosceles triangles of each hexagonal segment are connected to sides of the isosceles triangles of other hexagonal segments.

Description

The invention relates to a ball cover, in particular for soccer balls, from a variety of sewn together at the edges Polygonal parts, the two groups different Belong to form, of which the first group is equilateral Triangle parts and the second group of hexagon parts consists.

Such ball covers usually consist of groups of differently shaped polygonal parts, which are suitable connected, in particular sewn together, that a round ball is created. It is also common to have two groups of different polygonal parts to be used, with known ball covers either a total of 32 or 18 items are provided and the size and design of the individual parts must be chosen so that the resulting Ball as required by the International Football Association (FIFA) Adheres to dimensions. In particular, the scope of football be between 68 cm and 72 cm.

The individual parts are due to the mentioned boundary conditions always polygonal, for example pentagonal or hexagonal. The Individual parts are sewn together at the edges, whereby the sewing is done manually because it is machine sewing in the required quality is not possible or very expensive would.

The state of the art is particularly based on the German patent No. 37 26 830 and the introductory remarks made there Comments on the present problem pointed out. It should also be added that the ball is not only in its Roundness, but also balanced in the weight distribution of the individual parts must be so that the ball the desired flight path when shooting complies with. It is therefore always the aim of the manufacturers of such Balls to achieve the best division of the ball cover into individual parts. Here conflicting requirements must be met, however that an improvement in one point has always been a deterioration in one or more other points.

These are irregular hexagons that pass through Circular arc lines are limited. The manufacture of these hexagon parts and sewing together and with the triangle parts is therefore complicated and time consuming.

The invention is therefore based on the object, a ball cover of the beginning Specify the type mentioned, which with regard to the named Points is improved without disadvantages in other places Need to become. The ball shape should be as ideal as possible without sacrificing quality.

This object is achieved in that the hexagon parts have the shape of a rectangle, with two on opposite A triangle is attached to each side, one side of which has the assigned side of the rectangle coincides and its other two Pages both with each other and with the corresponding pages of the match the other attached triangle.

With such a division of the ball cover, it is advantageous because overall Twenty individual parts are used, twelve per ball cover Hexagonal parts and eight triangular parts are used and the area ratio of a hexagon part to a triangle part as opposed to all known ball covers is 1: 1.

With these inventive features, a ball cover can be made where each side of a triangular part with a long side of a hexagonal part is sewn so that each triangle part is comprised of three hexagon parts and each collide four tips of the six parts. By sewing together All of the abutting edges are thus largely ideal ball cover, especially for a soccer ball.

The edges of the triangular parts are preferably slightly convex.

Another development of the invention is that the shape of the hexagon parts has a triangular recess, into one of the two sides of the rectangle between the two added triangles and one to the Corners of the triangular parts have a complementary shape. The exact Merging these two groups of individual parts results from the following description of an embodiment.

The invention set out above brings a number of essentials Advantages over the prior art, wherein the following list is not complete.

The use of twenty individual parts makes one possible ideal division of the two groups of individual parts, namely twelve hexagon parts and eight triangle parts, whereby a rounder ball results than with 32 or 18 individual parts. Furthermore, compared to ball covers with 32 individual parts a saving in punching and thus also a cost saving. It should also be noted that the individual parts must be sewn manually, as already stated above was, so that with fewer parts without accepting Disadvantages more ball sleeves are produced per unit of time can. With 18 individual parts, you also save a lot of work steps compared to 32 individual parts, but one is considerable disadvantages.

Another advantage of the new ball cover is that because of the same areas of the two different parts no stretching problems when inflating the ball arise. The equally large areas also allow one problem-free adjustment of the ball circumference to the FIFA requirement from 68 cm to 72 cm. When inflating the ball prevails an even expansion pressure at all points of the ball cover, so that the ball becomes rounder than with different ones Area sizes of the different individual parts. The bigger one Area of the individual parts, due to the use from only twenty individual parts, also brings a better one Bouncing behavior of the ball with itself, because when the Ball has a larger indentation than with a smaller area arises, which means that a greater potential Energy is stored, which is then also in a greater kinetic energy can be converted.

The inventive design of the two groups of Items also requires that the seams overall and the edges of the individual parts are shorter. That is why important because the greatest abrasion of the ball occurs there. It it should also be noted that the weight and thickness of the individual parts play an important role in what with the invention Ball cover can be taken into account advantageously can, so that the ball has ideal properties when playing.

Another advantage of the ball cover according to the invention is in that the kicked ball is a better goal achieved than conventional balls. The ball according to the invention gives way because of its largely perfect roundness and balance of the individual parts over the circumference of the ball cover practically does not depend on the trajectory. Is a ball against it not perfectly round and balanced, the kicked one flutters Ball in the air. The ball according to the invention enables a manageable trajectory and reaches a destination without deviation from the same. The speed of the invention is also Balles because of its almost perfect roundness higher than with conventional balls.

As already said, the ball according to the invention requires less Sewing stitches so that less thread is used can. More balls can be produced per time unit and the manufacturing cost is lower.
