  • the controller 30 checks the images on sheet 10 on an individual basis. If a sheet has an image, such as 16' determined by the microprocessor to be unacceptable, the controller 30 provides information to the reject station which identifies the actual image to be rejected. For example if 16' in Figure 3 is found to be bad, as the controller 30 forwards the sheet 10 with the unacceptable image through the reject station. The controller 30 also causes the reject station to print the preselected reject mark on image 16' by activating printer 34' at the appropriate time, i.e. when the portion of sheet 10 is disposed directly below marking device 34'.
  • station 32 can be provided with a set of printer devices 34 arranged in an array identical to the array of images 16 shown in Figure 3. In this instance when sheet 10 is aligned with the printer arrays, the specific printer 34' corresponding to the unacceptable image is activated thereby marking the unacceptable image with a reject mark.
  • a sheet 10 may have more than one unacceptable images arranged in a row, in a column, or distributed in a random pattern on the sheet.
  • the microprocessor identifies each of the unacceptable images and orders the reject station to mark each of the images on the sheet accordingly.
  • the reject station is constructed to apply the reject mark only on the top surface 22 of sheet 10 even if an unacceptable image is found on the bottom surface because the object is to mark and identify bad documents, and it is not important to mark the actual bad image.
  • the reject station can be provided with two sets of marking devices, one for the top surface and one on the bottom.
  • the sheet 10 is either stacked for delivery or is slit into individual documents and then stacked.

Claims (14)

  1. Vorrichtung zur Überprüfung von Druckerei-Erzeugnissen, mit einer Abtast-Station (18, 20) zum aufeinanderfolgenden Empfang einer Vielzahl von Bögen (10) mit aufgedruckten Bildern (16), wobei die Abtast-Station (18, 20) Daten (26, 28) erzeugt, die die genannten Bilder beschreiben, und mit Datenverarbeitungsmitteln (30), welche die genannten Daten zwecks Überprüfung der Erfüllung voreingestellter Kriterien analysieren, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass jeder Bogen (10) eine Vielzahl von Dokumenten enthält, deren jedes durch ein Bild (16) entweder auf einer Oberfläche oder auf beiden Oberflächen (22, 24) des Bogens (10) definiert ist, und dass die Vorrichtung eine Markierungs-Station (32) aufweist, die mit den genannten Datenverarbeitungsmitteln (30) gekoppelt ist und Bögen (10) nacheinander von der genannten Abtast-Station (18, 20) erhält, wobei die genannte Markierungs-Station (32) diejenigen Dokumente (16') mit einem Ungültigkeitsvermerk versieht, bei welchen die genannten Datenverarbeitungsmittel (30) festgestellt haben, dass sie die genannten Kriterien nicht erfüllen.
  2. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, worin jeder der genannten Bögen (10) eine Oberseite (22) mit Oberseitenbildern (16) und eine Unterseite (24) mit Unterseitenbildern (16) besitzt und jedes Oberseitenbild in Register mit einem Unterseitenbild ist, um ein Dokument zu definieren.
  3. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, worin die genannte Markierungs-Station (32) das genannte Oberseitenbild markiert.
  4. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 1, worin die genannten Bilder (16) auf dem genannten Blatt (10) in Zeilen angeordnet sind und die Markierungseinrichtung (32) mehrere Druckköpfe (34) aufweist, und zwar einen Druckkopf für jede der genannten Zeilen.
  5. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 4, worin jeder Druckkopf (34) ein Anschlagdrucker ist.
  6. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 4, worin jeder Druckkopf (34) ein Tintenstrahldrucker ist.
  7. Druck- und Überprüfungsvorrchtung, mit einer Druckvorrichtung (12, 14) zum Drucken einer Mehrzahl von Dokumenten auf einen Bogen (10), wobei jedes Dokument durch ein Bild (16) entweder auf einer Oberfläche oder auf beiden Oberflächen (22, 24) des Bogens (10) definiert ist; mit Abtastmitteln (18, 20) zur Aufnahme des von der Druckvorrichtung (12, 14) kommenden, genannten Bogens (10) und zur Erzeugung von Daten (26, 28), welche die genannten Bilder (16) beschreiben; mit Datenverarbeitungsmitteln (30) zum Empfang der Daten und deren Vergleich mit voreingestellten Kriterien, um festzustellen, ob jedes der genannten Bilder annehmbar ist; und mit Markierungsmitteln (32, 34) zum Empfang des genannten Bogens (10) und zur Markierung solcher Dokumente mit einem Ungültigkeitsvermerk, die durch mindestens ein Bild (16') definiert werden, für welches die Datenverarbeitungsmittel festgestellt haben, dass es die genannten Kriterien nicht erfüllt.
  8. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 7, worin der genannte Bogen (10) eine obere (22) und eine untere Oberfläche (24) besitzt und die genannte Druckvorrichtung (12, 14) obere und untere Bilder (16) jeweils auf die obere bzw. untere Oberfläche druckt.
  9. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 8, worin die genannten Abtastmittel einen oberen (18) und einen unteren Scanner (20) zum Abtasten der oberen (22) bzw. der unteren Oberfläche (24) aufweisen.
  10. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 8, worin jedes genannte Oberseitenbild (16) in Register mit jedem genannten Unterseitenbild (16) ist und ein Dokument definiert, und worin die Markierungsmittel (34) das Oberseitenbild (16) des Dokuments markieren, wenn eines der Oberseiten- oder Unterseitenbilder (16') des Dokuments unannehmbar ist.
  11. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 7, worin die genannten Bilder (16) zeilenweise auf dem Bogen (10) angeordnet sind und die Markierungsvorrichtung (32, 34) eine Anzahl von Druckköpfen (34) enthält, und zwar einen Druckkopf für jede Zeile.
  12. Verfahren zur Überprüfung von Bildern (16) auf einem Bogen, bei dem die Bögen (10) nacheinander abgetastet werden und Daten erzeugt werden, welche diese Bilder (16) beschreiben, und die Daten jedes der Bilder (16) mit voreingestellten Kriterien verglichen werden, um zu bestimmen, ob das jeweilige Bild die voreingestellten Kriterien erfüllt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Bogen eine Anzahl von Dokumenten aufweist, deren jedes durch ein Bild (16) auf einer oder auf beiden Oberflächen des Bogens (10) definiert ist, und dass das Verfahren weiterhin dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass jedes Dokument, definiert durch mindestens ein Bild (16'), für welches festgestellt wurde, dass es voreingestellte Kriterien nicht erfüllt, mit einem Ungültigkeits-Vermerk versehen wird.
  13. Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, worin jedes Dokument durch ein Oberseitenbild und Unterseitenbild (16), welche auf der oberen (22) bzw. der unteren Oberfläche (24) des Bogens (10) angebracht sind, definiert ist und das Oberseitenbild eines Dokuments mit dem Ungültigkeitsvermerk versehen wird, wenn eines der Oberseiten- oder Unterseitenbilder des Dokuments unannehmbar ist.
  14. Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, worin der genannte Bogen (10) auf der Oberseite und der Unterseite mit Oberseiten-bzw. Unterseitenbildern versehen ist und diese Oberseiten- und Unterseitenbilder beim Abtastvorgang abgetastet werden.
