Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the doors of premises and industrial buildings, sheds and shops, formed by a flexible curtain, semi-rigid or rigid, foldable or rollable, which releases a bay by rising and closes it down, the curtain being stored in top of the door when it is raised, by winding or folding. Some of these doors are exposed to the action of the wind. To avoid significant deformation which could damage or block the door, various means are known. You can fix on the vertical edges of the curtain an extra thickness or pads that slide in a cannula (like boat sails). We also use horizontal reinforcement bars spaced vertically, and the ends of which slide in slides.
  • the present invention relates to a lifting curtain lifting door comprising two vertical lateral uprights each constituting or comprising a slide, each slide having a guide wall on either side of the plane of the curtain, the latter being able to pile up at the top by winding or folding, the curtain having edges which slide in said slides, said edges being adapted to come out of the slides in the event of abnormal transverse force. This prevents the curtain from being damaged in the event of an impact.
  • the subject of the present invention is therefore a handling door with a lifting curtain comprising two vertical lateral uprights each comprising a slide, each slide having a guide wall on either side of the plane of the curtain, the latter being able to collect at the upper part by winding or folding, the curtain having edges which slide in said slides, said edges being adapted to come out of the slides in the event of abnormal transverse force, the wall of each slide having an opening allowing an edge of the curtain to pass from the outside towards the inside of the slide, characterized in that at least one of the external walls of the uprights is provided with a guide projecting on said wall above said opening, and generally oriented upwards and towards the opening of the slide, this guide extending over at least part of the width of said wall to the edge of the opening of the slide, so as to bring through said opening into the slide an edge of the curtain drawn upwards which would have come out.
  • the wall of the slide or the wall of the upright comprising the slide comprises opposite at least one of said openings at least one movable wall element which can deform elastically so as to be able to close or release said opening to allow the edge of the curtain to pass from the outside to the inside of the slide, but not in reverse.
  • the movable wall element is a section of a wall of the slide, parallel to the plane of the curtain and movable around its lower edge, and moves towards the inside of the slide between the two walls delimiting the normal sliding path of the edges of the curtain.
  • the movable wall element is a section of an outer wall of an upright containing the slide, in an oblique plane with respect to the plane of the curtain, said section is movable around its most outside, and moves towards the bottom of the slide without interfering with it, to form an access path with an opening in the slide.
  • Figure 1 shows in perspective an embodiment of a frame, or gantry, of a handling door according to the invention.
  • the frame has two vertical lateral uprights 1, 2, joined at their upper ends by a cross member 3 forming a lintel.
  • Each upright has in section the shape of a pentagon open at a vertex, with a base a, two sides b perpendicular to the base, and two sides c approaching, leaving between their ends a gap d which constitutes the opening d 'a slide 21 in each upright, to each receive an edge of the curtain 4, and the ends of reinforcing bars 5.
  • the opposite sides may or may not be equal.
  • the curtain is supposed to be made of transparent material (which is possible and actually done in some cases).
  • Figure 2 is a horizontal sectional view of an upright, at a curtain reinforcing bar, illustrating how it is arranged in the slide.
  • the reinforcing bars are produced with a flexibility such that, under a pushing force, they leave the guide groove before undergoing a permanent deformation or subjecting the guide groove to permanent deformation.
  • This can be achieved by the overall flexibility of the bar. It can be produced by a plastic tube reinforced with green fiber, and withstand a significant non-permanent deformation, which causes one or both of its ends to exit the guide groove, without permanent deformation or rupture.
  • the flexibility can be limited to a part of the bar, for example in the middle, or at the ends.
  • the middle of the bar can be constituted by a more flexible part, for example an elastic sleeve or a coil spring, allowing the bar to be folded.
  • the bar 5 can also be provided with end pieces 6 made of flexible material, for example rubber, fitted into the two ends of the bar, which can be a metal tube or any other material.
  • This end piece can be semi-rigid to resist normal thrusts (wind) or slightly higher, and include a thinned zone 6a allowing flexion in the case of sudden or very strong thrust.
  • FIG. 3 shows in section another embodiment of the ends of the bars.
  • the horizontal reinforcing bar 10 consists of a tube 12, in the end of which is locked a mandrel 13, on which is engaged a spring 14.
  • the dimensions of the mandrel and of the spring are chosen so that the parts can hold together without other than a press fit. It is indeed preferable, but obviously not essential to avoid the operations of riveting, welding, etc.
  • the spring could be engaged in the tube 12.
  • an end piece 15 is fixed on the end spring. For questions of wear of materials, reduction of operating noise, it is preferable that it is not the spring which rubs directly in the slide 21.
  • the slides 21 stop a little below the volume d accumulation of the curtain, be it a winding, as shown in section in the figure, and have a flared end 21a, so that by letting the curtain come down, the ends of the bars naturally engage in the slide 21.
  • the space between the flaring 21a and the reinsertion ramp 7 forms a reinsertion window. Several may be provided along the height of the curtain.
  • the slide 21 is defined essentially by two parallel flat walls 22, 23 on either side of the plane of the curtain, which delimit an interstitial space in which the ends of the horizontal reinforcement bars of the curtain door move, these ends being guided by the walls 22, 23.
  • the bottom of the slide can be blocked by a wall 24, improving the rigidity and protecting the interior from dust and the like foreign bodies.
  • the slides are externally lined with oblique faces 25, 26 (protective walls) which facilitate the re-entry into the slides of the ends of the bars which have come out.
  • the slide generally comprises other side walls 27, 28 and a bottom 29 to form a rigid assembly.
  • the slide 21 has no interruption.
  • the end of the bar rubs on the surface 25 or the surface 27 of the profile which surrounds the slide. Arrived at the level of the ramp 35, the end of the bar is engaged on the latter, by the traction due to the raising of the curtain, on the one hand, and by the effect of the inclined guide 33 on the other hand. The end of the bar goes up the ramp 35, which forces the bar to shorten.
  • the ends of the bars can be telescopic, as on the bar 20 represented in FIG. 9.
  • a sleeve 47 is mounted on the end of the tube 12, either by force fitting, or by means of a pin 18 which serves at the same time to fix the inner end of the spring 19, which biases outwards a piston 41 whose role is equivalent to that of the tip 15 of the bar of Figure 3.
  • the end of the bar 10 may not be flexible. To allow the bar to come out of the slides under the effect of an abnormal force, this bar must have overall flexibility or include a zone, central for example, particularly flexible.
  • the guide ramp has been shown slightly hollow relative to the plane of the surface 25. This is in no way necessary.
  • the ramp can be formed only by the projecting rim 33A of the reinsertion guide.
  • the guide can be fixed or movable or removable.
  • the surface 25 can also be parallel to the bottom 29 of the slide.
  • the ramp 35 can sink so as to temporarily open a window in the wall 23 of the slide.
  • the ramp may for example be articulated around the lower edge 36, and a section 38 of the wall 23 may sink in the direction of arrow 37.
  • FIG. 6 which is a sectional view along line VI-VI of the figure 5, there is shown at 35 the normal position of the ramp, and at 35 'the depressed position.
  • the amplitude of the depression of the slide can be defined according to the nature of the bars and their ability to bend or be able to shorten. In practice, this local mobility can be obtained by a cutout made in the wall of the upright.
  • the reinsertion window 32 in order to prevent the bars from coming out of the slide during the descent of the curtain, can be closed by a flap 40 , deformable or articulated (left part of FIG. 7) which, in the rest position is urged to remain in a plane parallel to the curtain and which may come to occupy position 40 ′ by deforming towards the inside of the slide under the thrust a piece of bar, pulled by the curtain during the ascent.
  • the pan 40 returns to its position in the plane of the wall 22 of the slide and the curtain can descend without risking leaving the slide.
  • the pan 40 can be a flexible metal blade fixed at one end by rivets. It can, if necessary, be formed by a simple cut in the wall of the slide, depending on the elastic nature of the material of the slide.
