Abstract

An all-glass door construction for the glass dividing wall of a squash court comprises a door leaf (1) and a stationary glass plate (2), as well as a hinge (3) connecting the door leaf (1) and the glass plate (2) to each other. The door leaf (1) has in the region adjacent to the pivot axis (D-D) a straight edge (27) without marginal cut- outs. The two hinge parts (6, 13) of the hinge (3) have plane fastening surfaces (11), without projections protruding beyond the plane of the fastening surfaces (11). The pivot bearing is arranged at a distance (B) from the edge (17) of the glass plate (2). The section (22), bearing the pivot bearing, of the hinge part (13), fastened to the door leaf, is prolonged and bent around or angled off in such a way that, when the door (1) is opened, the bent-around or angled-off section (22) can be swivelled about the part extending beyond the pivot bearing of the tongue (12) of the hinge part (6) arranged on the stationary glass plate (2) and about the marginal region of the glass plate (2) bounded by the edge (17). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a door system with at least one hinge, in particular an all-glass door system within a glass wall separating a sports area, for example for a squash court, the two hinge parts connected to one another by the pivot being arranged on the side of the glass wall facing away from the sports area and mutually Have stop surfaces that limit the opening angle of the door opening towards the sports area.

Spielhallen Anwendung.Partitions made of transparent or partially transparent glass plates with door systems are used in particular in squash systems, in racquetball systems or in other sports or game halls.

A door system with a hinge of the type mentioned at the outset is known from EP 0 047 103 A1. In this known door system, the glass door has an edge cutout for each hinge, into which parts of the hinge protrude and fill the cut-out area of the door. The pivot bearing is arranged within these parts projecting into the edge cutout of the glass door, so that the axis of rotation is located in the area of the door leaf. The stop surfaces that limit the opening angle of the door are in this known hinge arrangement in one hinge part by the surface of the part protruding into the edge cutout in the plane of the surface of the glass pane facing the sports area, and in the other hinge part by a part running at right angles to the door plane also formed into the boundary surface extending boundary surface.

The known generic arrangement has various disadvantages. On the one hand, this arrangement pivots the edge area of the door leaf lying between the axis of rotation and the adjacent edge on opening when the door is open. This creates an expanding gap of up to a few centimeters in width. If a person reaches into this gap with their fingers on this side of the partition where the spectators are staying, there is a considerable risk of injury when the door is closed because the door edge exerts great shear forces in this area. Furthermore, the provision of edge cutouts in the glass sheet not only means additional work in the manufacture of the door, but it also impairs the strength of the glass sheet. In addition, it has been shown that such edge cutouts can lead to warping of the glass plate during the heating necessary for tempering the glass plate.

There is also known a hinge for concealed attachment inside a piece of furniture, which has a bearing part intended for insertion into a hole in the piece of furniture and a hinge part which cooperates with it and is fastened to the door leaf with a screw-on plate and a bracket which cooperates at the end with the pivot pin, in this way is shaped so that the door can be turned, but a stop is provided in the bearing part to limit the unscrewing movement (CH-A 346 786). Such pin hinges are not suitable for use with glass doors, since blind holes cannot be drilled on the edge of glass plates. An arrangement of the stop surfaces corresponding to this known pin hinge to limit the opening movement of the door would also exert forces on the edge of the glass plate, which would lead to damage or destruction of the glass plate in the region of the stop surfaces.

The object of the invention is to provide a door suitable for a glass wall separating a sports area. and to create a hinge arrangement in which, while maintaining stop surfaces to limit the opening movement of the door, on the one hand any risk of injury on the side facing away from the sports area is reliably avoided by pivoting and shearing movements in the area of the door adjacent to the axis of rotation, and on the other hand that Door leaf can be produced without the risk of warping.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the door leaf in the area adjacent to the axis of rotation has a straight edge without edge cutouts and the hinge parts (6, 13) have flat fastening surfaces (11) in that the pivot bearing on the hinge part fastened to the fixed glass plate is arranged behind the mounting surface at a distance from the edge of the glass plate that the pivot-bearing portion of the hinge part fastened to the fixed glass plate forms the stop surface at its front end, which is a distance (A) slightly above the surface or edge of the latter Hinge part supporting glass plate protrudes, and that the pivot bearing portion of the hinge part attached to the door leaf is extended and bent or bent so that when the door is opened the bent and bent portion around the stop surface forming the section of the fixed glass plate b Fixed hinge part and around the edge area of the fixed glass plate can be pivoted up to the abutment surface.

The hinge according to the invention only requires the provision of through holes in the glass plates at a distance from the edge, but no edge cutouts. This considerably simplifies the manufacture of the door leaves from thermally toughened glass. In particular, any risk is excluded that the glass pane inevitable due to the presence of edge cutouts inhomogeneous heating during the warping warps or warps, ie their flatness is completely preserved. Furthermore, by shifting the axis of rotation from the area of the door leaf into the area of the hinge part attached to the fixed wall part, the door leaf swivels inwards over its entire width including the edge area, ie towards the sports area, so that the increased risk of injury for the viewer is eliminated. In addition, by appropriate choice of the position of the axis of rotation and the dimensioning of the bent or bent part of the hinge part fastened to the door leaf, it can be achieved that during the pivoting movement of the door leaf the distance between the edge region of the door leaf on the one hand and the adjoining wall part on the other all Path is at most a few millimeters, so that for this reason too, the risk of a person's fingers being pinched between the door and the side part is completely eliminated. At the same time is achieved by the inventive design of the hinge parts and the corresponding formation of the stop surfaces that even with violent opening movements of the door no harmful forces for the glass plates are exerted on the glass plates.

Further advantages, details and developments of the invention result from the subclaims and from the following description of a preferred exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawings.

The door system shown is part of a glass partition of a squash court. All of the glass panels of the glass partition wall, like the glass door 1, consist of tempered glass, i.e. made of toughened safety glass. In the area in which the glass door 1 is attached to the glass plate 2, the glass plate 2 is on its outside, i.e. on the side facing away from the sports area, supported by a stiffening glass plate 4 arranged at right angles to the glass plate 2. In the case shown, this stiffening glass plate 4 is fastened to the glass plate 2 via the hinge part 6 fastened to the glass plate 2.

The hinge part 6 has an essentially L-shaped cross section. It comprises a leg 7 having a flat fastening surface 11, with which it is fastened to the glass plate 2 with the aid of screw connections 8, and a leg 9 arranged at right angles to the leg 7. The stiffening glass plate 4 is also attached to the leg 9 with the aid of screw connections 8 screwed. Between the legs 7 and 9 of the hinge part 6 and the glass plates 2 and 4, intermediate layers 10 made of a suitable elastic material are interposed.

The leg 7 of the hinge part 6 has at its free end a tongue 12 which supports the pivot bearing and with the other hinge part 13 cooperates. The tongue 12 has a flat stop surface 14 at its front end. The bore 15 in the leg 7 of the hinge part 6 and the bore 16 in the glass plate 2 are arranged in relation to one another in such a way that the stop surface 14 of the tongue 12 by the distance A from protrudes 2 to 3 mm over the surface or edge 17 of the glass plate 2. This projection of the tongue 12 over the edge (17) of the glass pane 2 serves to reliably prevent the hinge part 13 from coming into contact with the edge 17 of the glass pane 2 when the door is opened.

The tongue 12 of the hinge part 6 has a greater thickness than the leg 7 so that the material thickness is sufficient for the arrangement of the pivot bearing. In the tongue 12 there is a through hole 18 for receiving the pivot 19, which forms the axis of rotation D-D. The axis of rotation is at a distance B from the edge 17 of the glass pane 2 and from the stop surface 14 of the tongue 12, which is approximately 15 to 25 mm.

The hinge part 13 consists of a plate-shaped fastening tab 21 and a section 22 with a U-shaped cross section, one leg 23 of which adjoins the fastening tab 21, and the other leg 24, which carries the pivot bearing, milled out to accommodate the tongue 12 in the middle is. The fastening tab 21 of the hinge part 13 has a flat fastening surface 11 and is fastened to the door leaf 1 with the interposition of a suitable elastic intermediate layer by means of screw connections 8. The door leaf 1, like the glass plate 2, is provided with bores 16 which are countersunk on the side opposite the hinge. The Screw connections 8 each consist of a countersunk screw 28, which is arranged on the side of the glass plate, and a nut 29, which is arranged with the interposition of a toothed washer 30 in the countersunk through hole 15 of the respective fitting parts 7, 9 and 21. A plastic sleeve 20 is interposed between the bore 16 in the glass plate and the countersunk screw 28. The top surfaces of the countersunk screws 28 are flush with the surface of the glass plates. The door leaf 1 has a straight, continuous edge 27 without edge cutouts and is only provided with bores 16 in this edge region, which, however, are not critical for the heat treatment and the pretensioning of the door leaf 1.

The two sections 24a, 24b of the leg 24 formed by milling out the middle part are each provided at their free end with a bore 18 for receiving the pivot pin 19. The length dimensions of the legs 23 and 24 and the connecting web between these two legs are chosen so that the rotational movement of the door 1 in the direction of arrow F, i.e. towards the sports area, by the desired angle of rotation. During this rotary movement, the U-shaped section 22 pivots around the tongue 12 and around the edge region of the glass plate 2 until the flat stop surface 25, which is created by milling out the leg 24, comes to bear against the stop surface 14 of the tongue 12 .

The hinge parts 6 and 13 are expediently made of aluminum and are produced from extruded profiles with a corresponding cross section. The wall thickness of the hinge parts for the purpose according to the invention is in which the glass wall and the door are subjected to heavy impact loads, for example 8 to 10 mm. The height H of a hinge can be approximately 100 mm, for example, and the overall width can be, for example, 150 to 170 mm.
