Description

The invention relates to a weaving machine with a rapier which consists of at least one rapier head and a rapier guide means and slides on a rapier track during the weft insertion, magnetic means for stabilizing the rapier being provided in the rapier track and in the rapier.

If the rapier head is inserted into the shed and pulled out again by means of a more or less flexible band, there is the known problem that the rapier head and guide means of the rapier execute vibrations transversely to the direction of entry. These vibrations are undesirable for various reasons, among other things because they can jeopardize the security of the weft insertion.

Magnetic means are cited in the literature to solve the problem. In US Pat. No. 3,957,089 there is a device for magnetic guidance of the rapier head in the sley below the raceway of the rapier. It consists of an electromagnet with side plates, from which magnetic fields center the gripper head. Another document, US Pat. No. 4,126,159, also speaks of a magnetic guidance of the gripper. Here several magnets are described one after the other below the raceway of the gripper, which executives perform on the metallic parts of the gripper head or the entry means made of magnetic material.

Since plastics are increasingly being used in the development of high-speed rapier weaving machines, there are no materials with magnetic properties in dimensions sufficient from the outset on the rapier head or on the guide means of the rapier that are sufficient to generate effective managers. It is not sufficient here to arrange magnets in the vicinity of the raceway of the gripper head or a guide means, which are able to stabilize the gripper without further ado.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a rapier weaving machine in which effective guidance by magnets near the rapier raceway is achieved with the least amount of material with magnetic properties on the side of the rapier.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the gripper guide means has at least one insert made of magnetic material in the immediate vicinity of the gripper track, and consists of plastic with a groove for receiving the insert. The remaining parts of the gripper and the gripper guide means can be made of light metal or plastic by a special section made of magnetic material without magnetic properties. By arranging an insert in the immediate vicinity of the track, in which a magnetic field acts on the insert, it can be made in relatively small dimensions. As a result, the total mass of the gripper and the gripper guide means can be kept low despite an insert made of material with magnetic properties, which creates a prerequisite for achieving a high entry speed.

  • Fig. 4 bzw.
The invention is described in detail below with reference to the figures.
  • 1 shows a front view of a weaving machine for weft insertion by means of grippers,
  • 2 shows the grippers with their career,
  • 3 shows a detail from FIG. 2, partially in section, with the subject matter of the invention,
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 show cross sections through the gripper guide means and the gripper track according to the section lines IV-IV and V-V in FIG. 3.

Weaving machine I is shown in FIG. I seen from the goods side. The gripper drives 4 and 5 are fastened to the frame 2, which rotate according to the arrows shown and move the grippers 100 and 110, consisting of gripper heads 10 and 11 and gripper guide means 15 and 16, into the area along the reed 7. For the sake of clarity, neither warp nor weft threads are shown. The weft thread would be drawn in by the hook head II from the right between the warp threads and transferred in the middle of the weaving machine to the hook 10 for complete entry over the entire weaving width W. The finished fabric 3 is picked up by the fabric tree 6, which is stored in the machine frame 2 .

The gripper guide means 15 and 16 are shown as bands which are supported by the gripper track 8. 2 and 3, two magnets 12 and 13 are embedded in the gripper track 8. They can be made from permanent magnet steel. In the gripper guide means 15, 16, which can be made according to FIG. 7, for example from plastic 151 with a reinforcement insert 152 made of carbon fibers, two grooves 18 and recesses 19 are milled on one side of each groove. The grooves are dovetail grooves, as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, into which inserts of magnetic material, e.g. Soft iron with a cross section corresponding to that of the grooves 18 are inserted through the recesses 19. The insert 17 can also consist of plastic with embedded metal particles or a plastic magnet.

If the insert 17 is a permanent magnet, the track 8 must be made of non-magnetic material. Instead of magnets 12 and 13, pieces of soft iron must then be used. The magnets 12 and 13 and the inserts 17 made of magnetic material are dimensioned and arranged in such a way that the effect of a magnet on the respective insert on the movement range of the grippers 100, 110 is limited shortly before and during their interaction.

The recesses 19 can be filled with synthetic resin after inserting the inserts 17. It is expedient to arrange the magnets 12 and 13 or the inserts 17 such that they lie one above the other shortly before the gripper heads 10 and II meet. In this way, the gripper heads 10 and II are at the right moment by ver relatively weak magnetic forces, which act on the inserts 17 from the magnets 12, 13, are aligned with one another.
