the said first contact (30) which commands this first chain,
a push button (37) to validate this first chain,

4. Device according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that each of the said chains comprises an interconnecting contact (32, 38) of the relays in the other chain (K1, K2).

Device according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that each of the said chains comprises a limit switch (33, 39) for the device controlling the intensity of the braking effect, in the sense of increasing the effect of braking by the first chain and in the sense of decreasing it by the second chain.
6. Device according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the said means of braking consist of a device for advancing the phase of the folding knife (7) with respect to the arrival in the stop of a booklet to be folded (1), and in that the said means of controlling the intensity of the braking effect comprise an electric motor (23).
7. Device according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the said means of braking comprise the action of a force of suction acting on the booklet to be folded, and in that the said means of controlling the intensity of the braking effect comprise a butterfly valve (43) controlled by a motor (44).
8. Device according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the said means of braking comprise brushes intended to be squeezed against the booklet.
