Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing a gutter corner piece according to the preamble of claim 1, a device for carrying out the method and a gutter corner piece produced by the method.
- Gutter corner pieces are mainly used for gutters.
- two gutter ends cut with a miter-cut edge have been welded or brazed at the edges.
- the welding of a weld seam that is sealed over the entire length is complex and hard-soldered connections have not proven to be sufficiently firm for gutters because they can tear in the gutter as a result of the stresses occurring in the event of strong temperature changes.
- welding and brazing also have the disadvantage that the corrosion protection layer in the region of the connection point is destroyed.
- the object of the invention is to achieve a tensile connection of the channel ends in a simple manner and to prevent damage to the protective layer in the case of channel ends provided with a corrosion protection layer.
- the device for producing a gutter corner piece consists of the four devices 1 to 4 shown in FIGS. 1 to 6, 7 to 11, 12 to 15 and 16 to 18, which are explained in more detail below. With the device, the edges 5, 6 of two miter cut, semi-cylindrical channel ends 7, 8 - as in Figures 20 to 22 shown - folded together.
- FIG. 19 shows the flat sheet metal pieces 7 ', 8' cut to form the channel ends 7, 8.
- the dash-dotted lines in FIG. 19 indicate how the sheet metal pieces have previously been cut for channel ends intended for welding or brazing.
- the cut sheet metal pieces 7 ', 8' are bent in the usual manner in the form of a groove, whereby a bead 7 "8" is formed, which is set back relative to the edges 5, 6 because of the selected cut, such that the bead 7 "of the groove end 7 after the folds of the edges 5, 6 abut the bead 8 "of the other channel end, 8 or overlap or encompass it somewhat and the overlap can be flanged with the aid of a hammer.
- the first device 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 6 is used for folding and edging the edge 5 of the one channel end 7 and for forming an acute-angled fold on the inside of the edging. It has a receptacle 10 adapted to the outside of the channel end 7, mounted on a table 9, and a semi-cylindrical hold-down device 12 which can be vertically displaced into the receptacle according to the arrow 11 and which is adapted to the inside of the channel end.
- the end face 13 of the receptacle 10 (and that of the Hold-down device 12) lies in a vertical plane which is inclined at an angle of 45 ° to the curvature axis 15 of the receptacle 10 according to the miter.
- a plate 16 with a semi-elliptical recess is fastened to the end face 13, the edge 17 of which is offset outwards in a step-like manner with respect to the end elliptical edge 19 of the hollow cylindrical curvature surface 18 of the receptacle 10.
- the step height corresponds to four times the sheet thickness of the channel ends.
- the edge surface 17 of the plate 18 is a semi-elliptical hollow cylindrical ring surface and projects perpendicularly from the end surface 13.
- the edge surface 17 forms, together with the end surface 13, a die for a stamp 21 which can be moved parallel to the end surface 13 in accordance with the arrow 22 and is provided with a step-shaped projection 20.
- the plate-shaped stamp 21 is adapted to the semi-elliptical recess and the thickness of the plate 16, so that the outer surfaces of the stamp 21 and the plate 16 facing away from the receptacle 10 lie in one plane.
- Under the stamp 21 and below the table top 9 is arranged according to the arrow 24 vertically through a recess in the table top 9 displaceable, plate-shaped, provided with a semi-elliptical recess 25, the surface 10 facing the receptacle 26 when moving upwards the outer surfaces of the stamp 21 and the plate 16 slides, and the stroke of which is limited by the step-shaped extension 20 of the stamp 21.
- a third stamp 27 is provided, which consists of a semi-elliptical plate adapted to the recess of the plate 16 and protruded on the left elliptical edge 28 in the drawing, which in the horizontal, perpendicular to the end face 13 stamp feed according to arrow 29 into the recess of the Plate 16 picks up.
- the feed of the stamp 27 is limited by a stop, not shown.
- the second device 2 shown in FIGS. 7-11 serves to fold the edge 6 of the other channel end 8. It has a receptacle 30 which is adapted to the outside of the gutter end 8 and is mounted on the table top 9 and has a vertically displaceable receptacle on the inside hold-down device 31 adapted to the end of the channel.
- the end face 32 of the holder 30 (and that of the hold-down device 31) lies in a vertical plane inclined at an angle of 45 ° to the axis of curvature 35 of the holder.
- a plate 37 with a semi-elliptical recess is attached to the end face 32, the edge 38 of which is adapted to the end-side, elliptical edge 39 of the hollow-cylindrical curvature surface 40 of the receptacle 30.
- the edge surface 38 of the plate 37 is an elliptical hollow cylindrical ring surface and projects perpendicularly from the end surface 32. It therefore directly adjoins the edge 39 of the arch surface 40, but is angled away from it.
- a punch 44 consisting of two parts 42, 43 is mounted in the direction of arrow 45 so as to be vertically displaceable parallel to the end face 32.
- One stamp part 42 consists of a semi-elliptical plate which is adapted to the recess and the thickness of the plate 37 and which is vertically displaceably mounted on the surface of the other stamp part 43 which is also formed by a semi-elliptical plate and faces the receptacle 30.
- the stamp part 42 has an extension 46 projecting into a cavity of the stamp part 43, which is displaceably mounted on a vertical bolt 48 seated firmly in the stamp part 43 against the force of two springs 47 supported on the upper cavity wall.
- the stamp part 42 pressed down by the springs 47 protrudes over the stamp part 43 and, when the stamp 44 is advanced, causes an obtuse-angled bend in the sheet metal edge.
- the plunger 44 is advanced, the part 43 slides down on the part 42 against the force of the springs 47 and causes a second bend in the end of the channel edge projecting beyond the plate 37.
- the advance of the stamp 44 is limited by a step 49 on the side of the stamp part 43 facing the receptacle 30, which strikes the stamp part 42 after the stamp part 43 has made the bend.
- the third device 3 shown in FIGS. 12-15 serves to form an acute-angled fold on the outside of the edge 6 of the channel end 8. It has a semi-cylindrical support 50 which is adapted to the inside of the channel end 8 and is mounted on the table top 9, and a vertically displaceable , adapted to the outside of the channel end 8 Hold-down device 51.
- the end face 52 of the support 50 is at an angle corresponding to the miter angle of 45 ° to the arching axis of the support and the end face 53 of the hold-down device 51 is set back parallel to it.
- a stamp 54 adapted to the curvature of the support 50 with play can be displaced perpendicular to the end face 52.
- the front, lower, semi-elliptical edge 56 of the punch 54 which is in the feed direction 55, is chamfered in order to form an acute-angled fold on the groove edge folded in by the second device 2.
- the fourth device 4 shown in FIGS. 16-18 is used to compress the interlocking folds of the two channel ends 7, 8. It has two receptacles 60, 61 adapted to the outside of the channel ends 7, 8 and two hold-downs 62, 63 adapted to the inside.
- the two receptacles 60, 61 are mounted on a plate 64 fastened to the table 9 in such a way that their end faces 66, 67 inclined at a miter angle of 45 ° to the axis of curvature run parallel to one another at a distance which is somewhat larger than the width of the means processed the devices 1-3, and then for folding interlocking edges 5, 6 of the gutter ends 7, 8.
- An upper punch 70 formed by a semi-elliptical, bevelled plate is from the rest position shown in Fig. 16 in the space between the two End faces 66, 67 slidable.
- the two hold-downs 62, 63 are mounted vertically (arrow 72) against the force of springs 73 on a plate 71 carrying the upper punch 70.
- the upper punch 70 interacts with a die plate 74 which is stationary between the end faces 66, 67 on the plate 64 and a lower punch 76 which can be displaced horizontally (arrow 75) between the end faces 66, 67.
- the die plate 74 has a semi-elliptical recess, the edge of which is offset outwards in a step-like manner in relation to the two end-side, elliptical edges of the hollow-cylindrical curvature surfaces of the two receptacles 60, 61.
- the step height also corresponds to four times the sheet thickness.
- the edge of the die plate 74 does not extend over the entire length of the channel edge 5 but only over approximately three quarters of this length.
- the gutter corner piece is produced by means of devices 1 to 4 as follows.
- the sheet metal blanks 7 ', 8' shown in FIG. 19 are bent in the usual manner and the beads 7 "and 8" are formed.
- the channel end 7 is placed in the receptacle 10 of the device 1 in such a way that its edge 5 projects beyond the end face 13 of the receptacle and over the plate 16.
- the device 1 can have a stop (not shown) which can be pushed horizontally and parallel to the end face 13 at a distance in front of the plate 16 and which can be withdrawn for processing in a rest position outside the stamp paths.
- the channel end placed in the receptacle 10 is clamped by means of the hold-down device 12.
- the stamp 21 is applied first, which folds the edge 5 on the end face 13 of the receptacle 10 and folds it over on the edge face 17 of the plate 16.
- 20 shows the profile 80 of the edge 5 stamped by the stamp 21 at three points on the circumference of the channel.
- the fold is designated 81 and the fold 82. It can be seen that the angle which the bevel 81 forms with the adjoining part of the channel end 7 changes continuously over the length of the edge 5, namely from approximately 45 ° at the lower edge end in FIG. 20 to 90 ° in the center center (lowest point the gutter) up to about 135 ° at the upper edge end in FIG. 20.
- the fold 82 stands at right angles on the fold 81 and has the shape of a semi-elliptical cylindrical ring. It thus forms the first half-ring standing perpendicular to the miter cut plane 83 according to the invention.
- the stamp 25 is pushed upward, which folds the part of the edge 82 projecting beyond the edge surface 17 and the stamp 21 on the outside of the stamp 21 at a right angle.
- the profile punched by the stamp 25 is 84 in FIG. 20, and the fold is designated 85.
- the stamps 21 and 25 are then withdrawn and the stamp 27 advanced, the inclined surface 28 of which bends the fold 85 obliquely to the fold 82 to form an acute-angled fold 86.
- the profile with the acute-angled fold 86 formed on the inside of the fold 82 is designated 87 in FIG. 20.
- the channel end 8 is placed in the receptacle 30 of the device 2 and clamped by means of the hold-down device 31, its edge 6 also projecting beyond the end face 32 and the plate 37.
- the edge 6 is first bent at an obtuse angle by the preceding stamp part 42 on the edge surface 38 of the plate 37.
- FIG. 21 in the same way as in FIG. 20, the profile 90 of the edge 6 stamped by the stamp part 42 is shown at three points on the circumference of the channel.
- the obtuse-angled bend is designated 91. It can be seen that the angle that the bend 91 with the adjacent part of the channel end 8 includes, at the upper and lower edge ends in FIG. 21 each about 135 ° and gradually increases from both edge ends to 180 ° in the middle of the edge (lowest point of the channel). So there is no bending at the deepest point of the channel.
- the fold 91 like the fold 82, has the shape of a semi-elliptical cylindrical ring and thus forms the second half ring according to the invention, perpendicular to the miter cut plane 83.
- the plunger part 43 slides downward on the plunger part 42 against the force of the springs 47 and bends the part of the bend 91 projecting beyond the edge surface 38 and the plunger part 42 on the plate 37 at right angles to the outside.
- the profile punched by the punch 43 is designated 92 in FIG. 21 and the second fold is designated 93.
- the channel end 8 is then placed on the support 50 of the device 3, clamped by means of the holding-down device 51, and the punch 54 is pushed forward, the inclined surface 56 of which bends the bend 93 obliquely to the bend 91, which in FIG. 21 with 94 designated profile with the acute-angled fold 95 on the outside of the bend 91 is obtained.
- the folds 88, 95 of the two channel ends 7, 8 are interlocked as shown in FIG. 22 and the channel ends 7, 8 are placed in the receptacles 60, 61 of the device 4.
- the hold-down devices 62, 63 first clamp the channel ends 7, 8 in the receptacles 60, 61 and then the upper punch 70 compresses the part of the loose fold 96 lying on the die plate 74.
- the lower punch 76 is pushed forward, which compresses the remaining part of the fold 96. It has been shown that by pressing the loose fold 96 together in two steps, the risk of warping along the compressed fold 97 is reliably avoided.
- the compressed interlocking 97 (FIG. 22) is then expediently soft-soldered so that a perfectly tight connection is ensured. Any existing corrosion protection layer is not damaged by soft soldering.
- FIG. 22 shows that the fold 97 is offset to the outside at the channel corner and that a smooth transition is formed between the channel ends on the inside.
