Bei Kunststoff-Tuben ist dies zwar auch möglich, das Kunststoffmaterial hat jiedocn bedingt durch seine Elastizität das Bestreben, sich nach kurzer Zeit zurückzuverformen in seinen Ausgangszustand, also in den ursprünglich gestreckten Zustand. Das erfordert wiederum ein immer erneutes Aufrollen der Tube bei deren erneutem Gebrauch, was lästig ist.
