Description
The previously known photocells deliver relatively very weak currents, so that they are practically only in connection with Amplifier arrangements are to be used. High frequencies, such as B. for television purposes would be necessary, however, are due to the relatively high internal capacity the photocell is difficult to amplify without distortion.
The invention relates to a photocell arrangement in which the through the to. registering primary light radiation triggered photocurrent of a photocell a controls such an amplifier tube, on whose anode a luminescent © substance is arranged is and the photocell to the amplifier tube is arranged so that the in this way generated luminescence radiation acts on the photocathode in order to create a feedback
Stärkung zu erzielen. ' ;To achieve strengthening. ';
The photocurrent generated by the light radiation in a known manner is initially used to control a three-electrode system, for example; the anode of this The system is covered with fluorescent or phosphorescent substances, which by the passing electrons, depending on the number of them, to shine be stimulated. The corresponding light intensity is directly proportional to the Number of electrons passing over in the unit of time. That way generated luminescence radiation acts back on the photoelectric layer and dissolves one correspondingly increased photocurrent, "which in turn results in an increased current transfer in the Three-electrode system (amplifier system).
The mode of operation of the photocell according to the invention could accordingly be referred to as photoelectric feedback. Any consumer or further amplifier arrangement is switched into the anode circuit of the amplifier tube in a manner known per se. Of course, between the photocell and the cell containing the luminescent layer causing the feedback, a further, appropriately designed and dimensioned amplifier arrangement can optionally be switched on. In this case, the increased photocurrent causes a significantly increased luminescence radiation and thus also a stronger feedback. The last-mentioned arrangement can be used particularly advantageously for systems operating at low frequency.
- In the figures, for example, three embodiments of the photocell according to the invention are shown. Fig. 1 shows an arrangement in which the exciting light L 1 hits the photocathode Κχ .

The resulting photocurrent acts on the grid G and thus controls the three-electrode system K 2 , Q, A 2 . The electron: / current passing between K 2 and A 2 triggers a luminescence radiation corresponding to the respective current intensity on the anode A 2 , which acts on the photocathode Ki and thus generates a photoelectric feedback. A 1 is the ίο photo anode.
A1 ist die Photoanode',Fig. 2 shows an arrangement in which the exciting light L 1 is incident on the photocathode K \ through the screen-shaped perforated anode A 2 . The anode A 2 carries the luminescent layer on its inside, which is excited to glow by the electron transfer and generates the feedback radiation L 2 which is incident on the photocathode K 1 . A 1 is the photo anode ',
In the arrangement shown in Fig. 3, the photoelectric layer / Ci is arranged on the grid G itself. In this arrangement, too, the light L 1 passes through the openings of the sieve-shaped anode A covered on the inner side with luminescent substance. In this arrangement, the photoanode A 1 and the three-electrode system anode A 2 come together to form an anode A.
Countless other circuit possibilities and embodiments are of course possible conceivable. So it is possible to use the photoelectric system and the luminescent radiation generating amplifier system either in the same vacuum or in two separate, spatially suitable coordinated ones To accommodate tubes. The first is the use of high vacuum photo cells expedient, in the second case it is also possible to use noble gas at normal pressure filled photocells are used. The arrangement in which the photocathode and Amplifier tube located in the same vacuum space is particularly useful when it is the amplification of extremely weak photocurrents, as it is, for. Am the TV transmitters that work with high vacuum photo cells anyway for other reasons occur because here the ratio of signal strength to interference level, which is determined by later joint reinforcement cannot be improved, is more favorable.
In the case of arrangements as described with reference to Figs. 2 and 3, the use of such perforated plates is recommended, the penetration area of which is the same as the area covered with luminescent substance. However, it may also prove expedient in certain cases the luminescent area of up to 8/10 or 9/10 of the total area to increase. It is also advisable to make the distance between the luminescent anode and the photocathode as small as possible. 'The luminescent substances used in the. essentially only those substances that have the shortest possible afterglow time. The use of chemically pure fluorescent substances is therefore to be regarded as expedient for the purpose according to the invention. The photocathode must be shielded from the light from the hot cathode. Otherwise, the photoelectric effect caused by this luminous phenomenon must be compensated for by a suitably selected grid bias.
It is known in film projection devices for the purpose of compensating for the unevenness in the mean transparency of the material, d. H. to compensate for Schleieru. Like. Errors to arrange a photocell in front of the film, which the brightness of the Projection lamp affects, which in turn affects the photocell, so that this optical feedback amplification takes place.
With these feedback arrangements, however, the condition in the photocell bulb circuit becomes essentially determined by the go film running between the photocell and the lamp.
