Sekundärstrahlenblende für RöntgenstrahlenSecondary radiation diaphragm for X-rays
Patentiert im Deutschen Reiche vom 6. September 1933 abPatented in the German Empire on September 6, 1933
The secondary beam diaphragms previously known have the disadvantage that they are unwieldy and cumbersome drainage devices due to their coarse structure and must be permanently installed in the apparatus. Newer constructions Although they are lighter in weight, they have lower mechanical strength and are short Lifespan. The thickness of the secondary beam stops is still for many purposes too large and the grid, if no drainage device is used, disruptive.
The invention relates to a secondary beam diaphragm for X-rays with alternately transparent and impermeable material for X-rays existing lamellae, in which these disadvantages are avoided by the fact that the diaphragms of strips or bands of metal, in particular light metal, are joined together on a or both sides are provided with a coating of metal which is impermeable or difficult to permeate to X-rays, in particular heavy metal. A low-melting alloy, an amalgam or any other binding agent can be used to connect the individual strips or bands, which is applied to the coating of metal which is impermeable to X-rays or which is difficult to penetrate. The preparation of the aperture can be carried out in such a manner that, 'ο of a band or a plate made of an easily permeable for X-rays metal with a coating of jrür X-ray 3 ^ radiation impermeable or sparingly permeable metal by a cutting or stamping process. Like. Slats are made of any shape that these slats are then pressed between two parallel walls and made to adhere to each other by heat, pressure or some other process. The lamellas can have a zigzag or wave shape in a manner known per se. You can also a spirally wound strip of light metal consist of 4 ^ with a heavy metal coating. They can also be made from triangular, square or hexagonal columns made of light metal with a heavy metal coating.
Die Verwendung von Bändern oder Streifen aus Metall, ins-The main difference between the invention and the known aperture or Panel manufacturing method is that in the invention with a coating made of metal that is opaque or difficult to penetrate to X-rays Strips or bands are made of metal (light metal) that is permeable to X-rays, while in the known secondary beam diaphragms, these strips of paper or celluloid. The use of bands or strips made of metal, especially

The diaphragm production is easier insofar as the Punching out metal strips is easier and cleaner. The mechanical strength on the secondary beam diaphragm according to the invention is disproportionately larger than in the known diaphragms. aside from that ο the new faceplate is very insensitive to temperature fluctuations and moisture, while the known screens are under such Influences bend and sometimes burst, since the frame containing the panels is adamant. It also happens that the known apertures change over time pull together and finally fall out of the frame holding them. These too • o Disadvantages are avoided with the new cover. As a result, it can be substantial better than the known panels as an insert, front wall or movable by means of a drainage device be built into an X-ray cassette.
The new secondary beam diaphragm stands out is also characterized by extremely low strength; it can be less than ι mm thick and required no cover plate. For example, with a format of 18X24011 and an Assuming a focal surface distance of 65 cm, for example, their dimensions would be as follows be: thickness of the cover 0.8 mm, width of the light metal lamellas (aluminum lamellas) 0.15 mm, width of the heavy metal lamellas (lead lamellas) 0.02 mm. The lattice structure is practically invisible due to its small dimensions. This is still being encouraged due to the lower absorption that the heavy metal slats due to their reduced height oppose the primary x-rays. There is also the fact that the full shadow the heavy metal lamellae on the recording material is brightened by penumbra, which are caused by the finite size of the tube focus. The slat thickness is of the order of magnitude of the resolving power of X-rays in general. As a result of the delicacy of the grid can be a drain device can be dispensed with. The dazzle effect is with the appropriate Choice of the thickness of the heavy metal lamellas at least the same, taking into account the azimuth suppression is even greater than with the old apertures. The mechanical Strength of the all-metal screen is such that it can easily be adjusted to a thickness can be produced from only 0.8 mm up to the format 18 χ 24 cm. Also the production of larger dimensions do not run into difficulties.
Als Schwermetalle kommen Blei, Silber, Gold oder-andere Schwermetalle oder Legierungen in Frage.■ Follow the procedure described the most varied of light metals, such as aluminum, electron, beryllium or similar metals or alloys. The heavy metals are lead, silver, gold and others Heavy metals or alloys in question.
The application of the heavy metal coating as well as the other, mediating the bond Coating can be done, among other things, by plating, amalgamating, galvanizing, Spraying on, rolling on, rolling in, rubbing on, knocking down, precipitating, pouring on, Suspending or pulling through metallic baths, all with or without use from suitable chemicals, cement, adhesives, from pressure and heat.
The production can be done without a fixed connection of the slats or only by applying a binding agent on their narrow sides.
The lamellas can have a zigzag or wave shape, or revolve in a spiral shape be replaced by three-, four- or hexagonal short columns (honeycomb structure). The diaphragms can expediently in a known manner in a cylindrical or spherical cone to be brought.
The possibility of using the diaphragms according to the subject matter of the present invention are of the same type as the old secondary panels, i.e. Installation, possibly with Drainage device, into the X-ray apparatus or by hanging it loosely or place on the X-ray cassette or by inserting it into a kind of frame with a drainage device.
The screen can also be used as an insert in the X-ray cassette, as a built-in front wall the X-ray cassette, possibly with a protective cover, or with a drain device in the X-ray cassette be installed by yourself.
