Abstract

The seat, for use by a physically handicapped person for purposes of personal hygiene, is in the form of a padded ring (11) which is supported on parallel telescopic tubes (7). These tubes have spring-loaded catches which hold the tubes at the required overall length. A flange (4) extends vertically downwards from the ring (11) and has a groove on its inner face. This groove receives the flange of the rim of a bowl (6) or if the bowl is not required a board (3) can be fitted in the groove. A cushion can then be placed on the board (3).
