Description
Schwefelhaltige Organozinnverbindungen
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind schwefelhaltige Organozinnverbindungen,
die als Stabilisierungsmittel für Polyvinylchlorid und andere halogenhaltige Polymere geeignet sind.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen enthalten (1) mindestens zwei Zinnatome, die über eine Schwefel oder Carboxylatgruppen
oder beide Funktionen enthaltende Brücke miteinander verbunden sind, wobei diese Brücke mindestens zwei Kohlenstoffatome aufweist,
und (2) eine oder zwei direkt an die Zinnatome gebundene Alkylgruppen mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen sowie (3) eine
Mercaptoalkanolgruppe oder deren Derivat, die über das Schwefelatom direkt an mindestens eines der Zinnatome gebunden ist.
Die oben genannten Brücken können als

Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen eignen sich zur Stabilisierung
von halogenhaltigen Vinyl- und Vinylidenharzen, zum Beispiel von Polyvinylchlorid.
Beispiele für den Substituenten R sind die Methyl-, Äthyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, η-Butyl-, Isobutyl-, sek.-Butyl-, t-Butyl-,
Amyl-, Hexyl-, Octyl-, 2-Äthylhexyl- und Isooctylgruppe. Am
vorteilhaftesten ist R die Methylgruppe. Beispiele für Untergruppen des Substituenten R sind (a) die Methyl- und die Butylgruppe
sowie (b) die Methyl-, Butyl- und Octylgruppe.

Die zuletzt genannten Produkte haben die gleichen Anwendungszwecke wie die anderen erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen. Besonders
überraschend ist, daß sie mit Dimethylzinnoxid hergestellt werden können, das in vielen anderen Materialien nicht, in den
erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen aber löslich ist.
Die beschriebene Umsetzung ist in der US-Patentschrift 3 478 und in Journal Organometallic Chemistry, Band 24 (1970), Seiten
355-358, erläutert.
Für die Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen können verschiedene Verfahren angewandt werden, von denen einige in
den vorliegenden Beispielen beschrieben sind. Unabhängig von der angewandten Verfahrensmethode kann die Umsetzung innerhalb
eines breiten Temperaturbereiches von zum Beispiel Raumtemperatur

bis 1OO°C, gewöhnlich bei 25 bis 5O°C durchgeführt werden. Im
allgemeinen erfolgt die Umsetzung, unabhängig vonx angewandten Verfahren, mit Wasser als Lösungsmittel. Es können auch mit
Wasser nicht mischbare organische Lösungsmittel, zum Beispiel aliphatische und aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Hexan,
Octan, Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, aliphatische Carbonsäureester, zum Beispiel Butylacetat, Propylpropionat und Methylvaleriat
verwendet werden. Die Menge des Lösungsmittels ist nicht kritisch und kann weitgehend variieren.
Sofern nichts anderes angegeben ist, beziehen sich alle Teile und Prozentsätze auf das Gewicht.
In den Beispielen wurde, sofern nichts anderes vermerkt ist, der Brechungsindex bei 25 C gemessen.
In einen Dreihalskolben werden 120 g (0,5 Mol) Methylzinntrichlorid
gegeben, die in 200 ml Wasser gelöst sind. Die Lösung wird auf 30°C erwärmt, worauf 204 g (1,0 Mol) 2-Mercaptoäthy1-caprylat
zugegeben werden. Dann werden tropfenweise bei 30°C 80 g (1,0 Mol) 50 %iges wässriges Natriumhydroxid zugefügt.
Das Gemisch wird eine Stunde bei 30 bis 40°C gerührt. Anschließend werden in Anteilen 66,5 g (0,25 Mol) Bis-(2-mercaptoäthyl)-adipat
und dann 40 g (0,5 Mol) 50 %iges Natriumhydroxid zugegeben. Das Gemisch wird eine Stunde bei 30 bis 40°C gerührt.

Dann wird die Produktschicht abgetrennt und mit 200 ml Wasser gewaschen. Durch Erhitzen des Produktes unter Vakuum auf 1000C
erhält man 318 g eines nahezu farblosen Öls. Dieses besteht
hauptsächlich aus Bis-(methylzinn-bis-p-mercaptoäthylcaprylat"]-

mercaptoäthyl)-adipat; η = 1,5283.
Das Verfahren des Beispiels 1 wird unter Verwendung von 42 g (0,25 Mol) Mercaptoäthylmercaptopropionat anstelle des Bis-(2-mercaptoäthyl)-adipats
wiederholt. Man erhält 295 g eines hellgelben Öls aus Bis-(methylzinn-bis-^2-mercaptoäthylcaprylat])-
mercaptoäthylmercaptopropionat; n_ = 1,5352.
Das Verfahren des Beispiels 1 wird mit 59 g (0,25 Mol) Bis-(2-mercaptoäthyl)-maleat
anstelle des Bis-(2-mercaptoäthyl)-adipats wiederholt. Man erhält 302 g eines hellgelben Öls aus
Bis-(methylzinn-bis-p-mercaptoäthylcaprylat]-mercaptoäthyl)—
maleat; n^5 = 1,5389.
Das\Verfahren des Beispiels 1 wird unter Verwendung von 52 g
(0,25 Mol) Glykol-bis-(thioglykolat) anstelle des Bis-(2-mercaptoäthyl)-adipats
wiederholt. Es werden 299 g eines nahezu

gegeben, die in 200 ml Wasser gelöst sind. Das Gemisch wird auf 30°C erwärmt und dann mit 153 g (0,75 Mol) 2-Mercaptoäthylcaprylat

Die erfindungsgemäßen Stabilisierungsmittel können mit halogenhaltigen
Vinyl- und Vinylidenpolymeren verwendet werden, zum Beispiel mit Harzen, in denen das Halogen direkt an Kohlenstoffatome
gebunden ist. Vorzugsweise besteht das Polymere aus einem Vinylhalogenidpolymeren, insbesondere einem Vinylchloridpolymeren.
Gewöhnlich ist das Vinylchloridpolymere aus Monomeren hergestellt, die aus Vinylchlorid allein oder aus einer Mischung
von Monomeren bestehen, die mindestens 70 Gew.% Vinylchlorid enthalten. Wenn die Vinylchlorid-Copolymeren stabilisiert
werden, enthält das Copolymere des Vinylchlorids mit einer copblymerisierbaren äthylenisch ungesättigten Verbindung mindestens
10 % polymerisiertes Vinylchlorid.
Als chlorierte Polymere können verwendet werden: chloriertes Polyäthylen mit 14 bis 75, zum Beispiel 27 Gew.% Chlorid,

Handel erhältlich als VYNW), Vinylchlorid-Vinylacetat (87:13),
Vinylchlorid-Vinylacetat-Maleinsäureanhydrid (86:13:1), Vinylchlorid-Vinylidenchlorid
(95:5), Vinylchlorid-Diäthylfumarat (95:5), Vinylchlorid-Trichloräthylen (95:5), Vinylchlorid-2-Äthylhexylacrylat
(80:20).
Die erfindungsgemäßen Stabilisierungsmittel können in das Polymere
durch Einmischen in einer geeigneten Mahl- oder Mischvorrichtung oder auf andere bekannte Weise eingearbeitet werden,

die zu einer gleichmäßigen Verteilung im Polymeren führt. Zum Beispiel kann das Einmischen durch Vermählen auf Walzen bei
100 bis 160°C bewirkt werden.
Außer den erfindungsgemäßen Stabilisierungsmitteln können herkömmliche
Additive, wie Weichmacher, Pigmente, Füllstoffe, Farbstoffe, UV-Adsorptionsmittel, Verdichtungsmittel und dergleichen
eingearbeitet werden. Es können auch bekannte Stabilisierungsmittel eingearbeitet werden, zum Beispiel solche, wie
sie in den US-Patentschriften 3 640 950, 2 870 119, 2 870 182, 2 731 484, 2 731 482 und 2 914 506 beschrieben sind.
Falls Weichmacher verwendet werden, kommen sie in den herkömmlichen
Mengen, zum Beispiel von 10 bis 150 Teilen je 100 Teile
Polymeres zur Anwendung. Typische Weichmacher sind Di-2-äthylhexylphthalat,
Dibutylsebacat, Dioctylsebacat und Tricresylphosphat.
Die zinnhaltigen Stabilisierungsmittel gemäß der Erfindung werden gewöhnlich in einer Menge von 0,01 bis 10 Gew.% des
Polymeren verwendet, vorzugsweise von 0,2 bis 5 Gew.%,bezogen auf das Gewicht des Polymeren.
Wie schon angegeben, können auch 0,1 bis 10 Teile je 100 Teile des halogenhaltigen Polymeren eines Metallsalz-Stabilisierungsmittels
eingearbeitet werden. Als solche können Barium-,

Strontium-, Calcium-, Cadmium-, Zink-, Blei-, Zinn-, Magnesium-, Kobalt-, Nickel-, Titan- und Aluminiumsalze von Phenolen, aromatischen
Carbonsäuren, Fettsäuren oder Epoxyfettsäuren verwendet
werden.
Beispiele für geeignete Salze sind Barium-di-(nonylphenolat), Strontium-di-(nonylphenolat), Strontium-di-(amylphenolat),
Barium-di-(octylphenolat), Strontium-di-(octylphenolat), Bariumdi- (nonyl-o-cresolat), Blei-di-(octylphenolat), Cadmium-2-äthylhexoat,
Cadmiumlaurat, Cadmiumstearat, Zinkcaprylat, Cadmiumcaprat, Bariumstearat, Barium-2-äthylhexoat, Bariumlaurat,
Bariumricinoleat, Bleistearat, Aluminiumstearat,
Magnesiumstearat, Calciumoctoat, Calciumstearat, Cadmiumnaphthenat,
Cadmiumbenzoat, Cadmium-p-t-butylbenzoat, Bariumoctylsalicylat,
Cadmiumepoxystearat, Strontiumepoxystearat, Cadmiumsalze von epoxydierten Säuren des Sojabohnenöls und
Bleiepoxystearat.
In Plastisolformulierungen werden vorzugsweise auch 0,1 bis 10 Teile je 100 Teile des Polymeren eines epoxydierten pflanzlichen
Öls, wie epoxydiertes Sojabohnenöl oder epoxydiertes
Tallpl oder Epoxyester von Fettsäuren, zum Beispiel Isooctylepoxystearat
eingearbeitet.

100 Teile Polyvinylchlorid, das im Handel unter der Bezeichnung Geon 103 EP erhältlich ist, werden mit 1,0 Teil feinteiligem
Calciumcarbonat, das mit Calciumstearat überzogen ist (Omya 90T), 1,0 Teil Paraffinwachs, das im Handel unter der Bezeichnung
Advawax 165 erhältlich ist, 0,1 Teil oxydiertem Äthylenhomopolymerem

Die Zusammensetzung wird auf 193°C erhitzt und vermählen, wobei nach der Einführung des Gemisches in die Mühle in Abständen
von 1 Minute Proben entnommen werden. Die Ergebnisse dieses Versuches sind in der Tabelle 1 zusammengestellt.

Claims (71)
- Patentansprüche, 1./ Schwefelhaltige Organozinnverbindungen mit (1) mindestens zwei Zinnatomen, die über eine Brücke aus Schwefel oder Carboxylatgruppen oder Schwefel und Carboxylatgruppen miteinander verbunden sind, (2) direkt an jedes Zinnatom gebunden eine bis zwei Alkylgruppen mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen und (3) eine Mercaptoalkanolgruppe oder deren Derivat aufweisen, die über das Schwefelatom direkt an mindestens eines der Zinnatome gebunden ist.
- 2. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie die Strukturformel aufweisenR Sn-Q-Z-Q-SnRO

Verbindungen nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie die allgemeine Formel (1)R Sn-(Z) - SnRhaben, in der R ein Alkylrest mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen,(SR'O[CjdR")y , Xywobei X ein Halogen mit dem Atomgewicht 35 bis 127 ist,O O RO(-SR6COR") , (-SR") , (-OCR") oder (-SR4OSnOCR11)ist, vorausgesetzt, daß im Molekül mindestens eine Gruppe OIl-SR1O[CfKR11 enthalten ist, d = 0 oder 1, wobei, wenn d = ist, jeder Substituent R1 eine Alkylengruppe mit 1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen und, wenn d = 1 ist, jeder Substituent R1 eine Alkylengruppe mit 2 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeutet, ferner, wenn d = 1 ist, jeder Substituent R" eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 20, vorzugsweise 1 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, äthylenisch ungesättigte.aliphatische Kohlenwasserstoffreste mit 1 bis 3 äthylenischen Doppelbindungen und 2 bis 19 Kohlenstoffatomen, Halogen- oder Hydroxyalkyl-60982.1/1029oder-alkenylgruppen mit 2 bis 19, vorzugsweise 2 bis 17 Kohlenstoffatomen, Cycloalkylgruppen mit 5 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen, Benzyl-, Phenyl-, Alkylphenyl- oder Halogen-O Ophenylgruppen, R.£0R.. (/ -rcor"·, -R11OR11SnR darstellt, wobei R"1 eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, eine Alkenylgruppe mit 2 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, Halogen oder Hydroxyalkyl- oder -alkenylgruppen mit 2 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, Cycloalkylgruppen mit 5 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen, Benzyl-, Phenyl- oder Halogenphenylgruppen darstellt, wenn d = 0 ist, R" Wasserstoff, Alkylgruppen mit 1 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, äthylenisch ungesättigte aliphatische Kohlenwasserstoffgruppen mit 1 bis 3 äthylenischen Doppelbindungen und 2 bis 19 Kohlenstoffatomen, Cycloalkylgruppen mit 5 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen, Benzyl-, Phenyl- oder Halogenphenylgruppen bedeutet, χ = 1 oder 2; y = 1 oder 2 und ζ = 1 oder 2 ist, wobei die Summe aus x+y+z=4 beträgt,0 0 0 0Z = -S-R4OCR6S-, -SR4OCR6COR4S-, -SR6COR5OCR6S-,0 0 0 0 0-SRgCO, -OCR5CO, -S-R4S-, -SR4OCR5C-O-,0 0 0 0 0-OCr5COOR6OCR5CO-, -0-, -SR4OC-R5-C-OR4S- oder 0 0 0 0.Il Il Il Il-OCR9-COR1q-OCRqCO- ist, wobei R. eine Arylengruppe,609821/1029-CH=CH- oder eine Älkylengruppe mit 2 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen ist, R1. entfällt oder eine Alkylengruppe mit 1 bis 8 Kohlenstoffatomen, eine Phenylengruppe oder -CH=CH-darstellt, Rg ein Alkylenrest mit 1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatoisen, -CH=CH- oder ein Ärylenrest ist, Rg den Rest einer Mcarbonsäure bedeutet, aus dem die beiden Carboxylgruppen entfernt wurden, R^0 ein Ärylenrest oderR12ist, wobei t = O bis 1 und R^1 und R12 Wasserstoff oder Älkylreste bedeuten, oder (2}, daß sie aus Verbindungen bestehen, die durch umsetzung eines Dialkylzinnoxids oder von Älkylzinnsäure mit einer Verbindung der allgemeinen FormelR Sn-CZ) -Sn-RXf Z ι Xy (A) erkalten wurden.
- 5. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie öle Formel (1} haben.

- 7. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß χ und ζ 1 sind und y = 2 ist.
- 8. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß einer der an die Zinnatome gebundenen Substituenten A Halogen vom Atomgewicht 35 bis 127 und der andere -SR'OCOR" ist.
- 9. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet r daß alle Substituenten A = -SR1OCOR" sind.
- 10. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß d = 0 ist.
- 11. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß χ und ζ 1 sind und y = 2 ist.
- 12. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß Z nicht -O- ist und die Substituenten A=-SRrOCOR" oder Halogen vom Atomgewicht 35 bis 127 sind.
- 13. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet,0 0daß Z «■ OC-Rt--COR-S- ist.

- 64. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 63, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß mindestens einer der Substituenten A ein Halogen vom Atomgewicht 35 bis 127 ist.
- 65. Verbindungen nach Anspruch 64, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Halogen Chlor ist.

- 71. Zusammensetzung nach Anspruch 70, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das halogenhaltige Polymere aus Vinylchloridpolymeren, chloriertem Polyäthylen, chloriertem Kautschuk, chloriertem Polystyrol, chloriertem Polyvinylchlorid oder Kautschukhydrochlorid besteht.schrkö609821/1029
