8. The portable easel according to claim 7, wherein the free end of the base panel is provided with a handle slot.

9. The portable easel according to claim 8, wherein the side walls of the handle slots adjacent the free end of the easel are of lower elevation than the side walls adjacent the hinged end of the easel.

10. The portable easel according to claim 9, wherein at least one of the free end of the painting board and the free end of the base plate is provided with a magnetic member, and the other is provided with a suction member corresponding to the magnetic member.
