Folding roof for car bodies, in particular for motor vehicles. The present invention is a folding top for car bodies, in particular special motor vehicles, according to the claim of the main patent. The folding top according to the invention is characterized in that further means are provided to ensure a quick and easy Vorwer fen of the top.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example, namely: Figure 1 shows the rear part of a car box with the folding top linkage with the top down; FIG. 2 shows a section through the folding top in the semi-upright position, while FIG. 3 illustrates the folding top in section in the laid down state; 4 shows the spring erecting the main convertible top support.
In the drawing, the frame of the Wa genkastens is denoted by 1. On each side of the car body frame 1, a convertible top main support 2 with the support arm 3 is rotatably mounted about the pin 4. The rear longitudinal bow part 5 is articulated to the main support 2. The front longitudinal bow part 6 is rotatably attached to the latter by the hinge 7. The rear longitudinal bow part 5 is rotatable about the pin 8 and has an arm 9 which is connected to the car body through the handlebar 10. The handlebar 10 is mounted pivotably about the pin 11.
The convertible top plan 12 leads from the rear part of the car body frame 1 via the foldable support 13 and the transverse bracket 14 carried by the convertible top main supports 2, furthermore the transverse bracket 15 carried by the longitudinal bows 5, 6 to the front transverse bracket 16.
A telescopic spring is arranged between the upper end of the convertible top main support 2 and the front longitudinal bow 6, which consists of a sleeve 26, a spring 27 and a rod 28 which can be longitudinally displaceable inside the sleeve 26. The sleeve 26 is hinged at one end by means of the pin 29 to the convertible top main support 2, while its other end is closed by a cap 26 '. The eyelet 30 of the rod 28 is articulated on the front longitudinal bow part 6. The rod 28 has a piston-like thickening in the interior of the sleeve 26, while a ring is fixedly mounted in the interior of the sleeve 26.
The spring 27 is arranged between the piston-like thickening on the one hand and said fixed ring is. The length and arrangement of the parts 5, 6, 26 and 28 is selected such that the piston-like thickening of the rod 28, when the convertible top is up, lies against the sleeve lock 26 'acting as a stop. so that the sleeve 26 and the rod 28 act as a uniform tension member engaging the front longitudinal bow part 6, which prevents the longitudinal bow parts 5, 6 from buckling downwards. To change the position of the train formed by the parts 26, 28, the sleeve lock 26 'by means of a thread on the sleeve 26 is adjustable.
A rod 31 which can slide in a sleeve 32 is hinged to the rear of each convertible top main support 2. A spring 33 is provided between the rod 31 and the bottom of the sleeve 32 and is relaxed in the position shown in FIG. The upper end of the sleeve 32 has a collar 34, while a ring 35 is slidably mounted on the sleeve itself. A spring 44 is provided between collar 34 and ring 35. the rings of which lie close together in the position of the convertible top shown. Ring 35 is encompassed by a fork-like link 36 pivotably connected to it. Handlebar 36 is also on the back of the convertible top main support 2, at 37, pivotally mounted.
A short lever 38 is rotatably mounted around the pin 4 of the support arm 3. The end of the lever 38 has a hook 39 in which a spring 40 can be suspended. The other end of the spring 40 is connected to the car body frame 1 by a hook 41. The arm 38 rests against a stop 42 which is conveniently arranged on the Wa genkasten 1 adjustable. A stop 43 arranged behind the pin 4 on the support arm 3 is arranged in such a way that it can interact with the arm 38.
The operation of the device described is as follows: If the convertible top is to be folded back from the position shown in FIG. 1, the belt 45 is released and the front longitudinal bow parts 6 are pivoted about the hinge 7 upwards. At the same time, as can be seen from Fig. 2, the top main support 2 move backwards by pivoting the support arm 3 about the pin 4. The link 10 connected to the arm 9 and pivotable around the pin 11 acts that the rear longitudinal bow part 5 moves in an approximately horizontal position towards the back th. Points 4, 11, 8 and 46 form the four corners of a four-cornered joint.
During this movement of the parts, the stop 43 will come to lie conditions against the arm 38 and pivot the same about the pin 4 in a clockwise sense. Since the spring 40 is tensioned and the spring 33 located in the sleeve 32 is compressed together. Since the ring 35 moves downwards, the spring 44 is now pulled apart and tensioned.
When the United deck is fully folded back (FIG. 3), the longitudinal bow parts 5 and 6 are united by a lock 47. This lock consists of a bolt 48 which can be displaced under spring action and which engages in an angle iron 49 provided with a corresponding recess. The two parts are therefore automatically connected to one another when the front longitudinal bow part 5 is folded down.
In order to detach the parts from one another, a lever 50 is provided, through the actuation of which the bolt 48 can be retracted against the action of a spring, not shown. If the folded top is now to be erected, the latch 48 must simply be withdrawn, thereby detaching the two parts 5, 6 from one another. When then the spring 27 comes into effect and pushes the front longitudinal bow 6 forward, while the tensioned spring 40 moves the arm 38 and thus the stop 43 to the rear, whereby the support arm 3 and the United deck main support 2 pushed forward who the.
This spring 40 is necessary because the stronger springs 33, 44 are in an almost horizontal position when the top is down and therefore cannot produce a turning effect. As soon as the spring 40 brings the parts out of the dead center position, the springs 33, 44 also come into effect.
