Abstract

The hydroregulator shall find application in irrigation andwater treatment systems. It regulates the levels and the dischargein the open canals and basins by measuring the passing throughwater quantities and the summary volumes, and when complete with awater turbine and a generator, electric power can be generated atlower pressure. The hydroregulator consists of a main siphon (2)under which a vacuumization siphon (3) is fitted connected betweenthe front branch (1) and the gradually widening rear branch (5) ofsiphon (2). The tops of the main (2) and the vacuumization (3)siphon are connected by vacuum pipe (6) and the tops of theindividual main siphons (2) are interconnected by a reverse valve(7). A front stop tube (8) comes out of emergency valve (13) ofthe top of siphon (2) which has a widening end (12) with a slitfixed submerged under tho higher water level (9). Rear stop tube(11) also comes out from valve (13) having an extened end (12)with a slit, mobile-submerged by fitting to a float (14) endingwith a rod (15) around an articulation (16) fitted in stillingshaft (17) with a bottom lying under a bottom sill (28). Modularsurface (18) with a facility for revolving and shifting is mountedto the front branch (1) of siphon (2). Vacuum piezometer (19)coming out of the top of siphon (2) is submerged in higer waterlevel (9) and its middle conical part (20) is calibrated bydischarge rates and is in the middle of top section (23) of siphon(2). Conical part (20) is complete with sensor (21) for theregistration and for transmitting the discharge rates into anintegrator (22) or a computer. Partial water gauge (25) is mountedparallelly to the rear branch (5) being connected to the top ofmain siphon (2) by an extension input (26), and after the watergauge, (25) by a gradually extending pipe (37), is discharged intothe rear branch (5) of a level under bottom sill (28). In theoption where the higher water level (9) is above the top of siphon(2), a vacuum throttle lock is mounted in the front branch (1)consisting of a conical fixed part (31) and conical mobile part(32) airtight connected by a rubber ring (33). The internal partof vacuum lock (30) is connected by the lower vacuum small pipe(34) to vacuum small pipe (6) above the top of siphon (3). In thepresence of larger water quantities an alternative is producedhaving an axial water turbine (37) mounted in the front branch(1), complete, along the vertical axis, with a generator (38) forthe generation of electric power.8 claims, 5 figures.
