Device for securing half-knots under tension. -------------------------------------------------- ----
The drawbacks of knots currently known for connecting two ends of a flexible link lie mainly in the fact that they can hardly be undone, which is a waste of time, and often even the loss of material.
The object of the present invention is to connect two ends of a flexible link with a half-knot, the link remaining firmly established as long as the pulling takes place simultaneously on both ends.
From the foregoing, it follows that the device according to the invention advantageously replaces the knots attaching two or more ends to each other wherever these knots must be made and undone quickly, while resisting with maximum efficiency. tearing.
The device according to the invention consists of a block of a hard material of suitable shape and dimensions, in which are provided at least two holes at a desired distance and intended for the passage of each of the ends to be tied, which are then joined by a half-knot thus lying outside the traction plane. Holes can be connected

In the accompanying drawing, several embodiments of the present invention are shown.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is an axial section along the line A-B.
Figs. 3, 4, 5 represent cross sections C-D, showing three different sections.
In the drawing, 1 represents a block of a hard material, of suitable shape, which may have come in metal, porcelain, glass, ebonite, bakelite, galalith, or any other suitable material.
In this block, are drilled at least two holes 2'-22, sufficiently close together, and through which the ends to be tied
2 3'-32 are passed and thus led outside the traction plane (see arrows fig 2) where a half-knot is made and held tight against the surface by this traction.
As is clear from fig. 2, the ends 3t-32 are respectively tightened under the ends 32-3 ', and the stronger the traction, the greater the pressure which operates on the ends of the link.
A cavity 4 can be provided in the block and along the line connecting the two openings. This section can be any (see figs. 3 to 5) depending on the nature of the link; however, it will preferably be conical. This cavity connecting the holes increases the setting in proportion to the degree of traction, protects the half-knot against contact, and keeps the ends free during the formation of the half-knot.
The wedging resulting from the balanced tension on the flexible links passing through the holes, it follows that, in order to loosen the half-knot, it suffices to operate a stronger traction on one side of the block.
