<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Device for the mechanical control of a compressed air motor
In electric traction vehicles, compressed air motors are used to drive the tap changer or the cam switch gear. The air motor is equipped with four cylinders, the inlet and outlet valves of which are controlled via auxiliary contacts on control contactors and on the switchgear itself. The recurring malfunctions on these auxiliary contacts. mainly caused by the high switching frequency, it is necessary to reduce the number of auxiliary contacts to a minimum. However, this is only possible through direct mechanical actuation of the inlet and outlet valves by means of cams on a camshaft driven by the crankshaft of the compressed air motor. Such controls are known.
In these, the compressed air motor is set in motion, but a planetary gear rotates the camshaft in an upward and downward direction. The cam disks required to operate the valves of the compressed air motor are located on this camshaft.
The invention makes it possible to manage without auxiliary contacts.
The invention relates to a device for the mechanical control of a compressed air motor, the valves of which are controlled by a camshaft coupled to the crankshaft.
The invention consists in that the valves directly controlled by the crankshaft are preceded by electrically controlled valves for controlling the compressed air and exhaust air for their actuation

Deactivation. Pneumatic piston motor. 4 ... 7 are the cylinders. 8 .... 11 are the control valves and 12 .... 15 are the associated cam disks on the camshaft 16. The camshaft 16 is coupled to the crankshaft S.
The valves 8 ... 11 controlled by the crankshaft are preceded by electrically controlled valves 17 ... 20 via compressed air lines 21 ... 24. The compressed air (c) and the exhaust air (d) are controlled via these electrically controlled valves.
Switching contacts 1 a and 1 b on the control controller 1 are provided for actuating the valves 17 ... 20. The entire device has two switching contacts that only come into operation at the beginning of each controller adjustment, and their switching frequency is therefore relatively low. In the supply lines to these contacts there are also the end position contacts 25, 26, which only occasionally respond in the end positions of the tap changer. These could also be replaced by two cam-actuated valves in the end positions, in that they each interrupt the supply of compressed air to the valve 9 when switching upwards or to valve 11 when switching downwards, whereby the air motor is stopped.
The mode of action is as follows:
If the control controller 1 z. B. brought to the upward position la, the electrically controlled valves 17 and 18 pull, thereby the line 21 connected to the compressed air first to the outside air via 17 and the line 22, which was previously connected to the outside air, is to the Compressed air connected via 18. As a result, the cylinder 5 is acted upon and the compressed air motor continues to move in the upward direction as long as the solenoid valves 17, 18 remain attracted. The crank
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
shaft 3 makes 1/4 turn per step.
By switching the control controller 1 to 1b in the downward position, the electrovalves 19, 20 are attracted; in an analogous manner, the air motor rotates in the downward direction as long as the electrovalves remain energized. The limit switches 25 and 26 stop the air motor in the end positions.
It can also according to 'Fig. 2 each two valves 17, 18 and 19, 20 are coupled together and operated together by a solenoid 27 and 28 each. Rods 31 and 32, on which pins 34 and 35 sit, are connected to these magnet coils. On the camshaft 16 there are cam disks 29 and 30 which have cutouts in each step position (FIG. 3). through which the pins reach the back of the cam disk when the magnets are attracted. Immediately after the start of the rotation there is a locking of the falling back in the event of a further interruption of the magnetic current. A controlled switching process is therefore necessarily completed. The solenoid coils 27 and 28 thus serve both for air motor control and for self-holding of the control command once it has been used.
The actuation of the air motor according to the present invention does not require any auxiliary contacts or a planetary gear. switch off.
